We recently visited Bloom and were captivated by the gorgeous ambiance and reasonable price-to-food value. The decor and menu suggest this place has immense potential, but unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by significant customer service issues.
As someone who typically avoids writing negative reviews, I feel compelled to share this feedback constructively, hoping the restaurant can address these shortcomings. In Spain, we understand customer service differs from the US; a grumpy waiter might be shrugged off, but an inexperienced and unorganized one can ruin an otherwise great experience.
Here’s what happened: The restaurant opened late, and although someone eventually came up to remove the "closed" sign, they immediately rushed back downstairs without greeting us. We waited at the host booth, expecting to be seated, but after about 10 minutes, a server asked why we hadn't come downstairs. Feeling awkward, we explained we were waiting to be seated, to which she simply said, "Sit anywhere you want."
After we seated ourselves, she returned and questioned why we had chosen a table far from her service area. It was an odd start. Things worsened when a dish we ordered never arrived, and my husband had to get up twice to remind her about basic requests. What could have been a lovely 45-minute breakfast turned into a two-hour ordeal. We sat for extended periods without food or drink, as the server never returned to check on us or offer refills. Frustrated, my husband eventually stood up to ask for the bill, cutting our losses and leaving disappointed.
While I truly believe this restaurant has potential, the staff desperately need better training to ensure guests feel welcomed and cared for. Fixing these service issues could elevate Bloom into a must-visit spot. Until then, I’m hesitant to...
Read moreWe decided to celebrate my birthday here because an Influencer we loved had a great experience a few days ago. We traveled from Texas, US, to celebrate my birthday with my husband, son, and friends. The place is adorable, you will take the best pictures. However, when it comes to customer service, you can select other places. We were waiting 25 minutes to be greeted by a waiter. As a matter of fact, we stopped various employees before one of them took our drinks order (the order came incorrectly).
Before ordering the host came to take our menus because we were taking too much time to order! I asked her to leave us at least one. Unbelievable, after took them 25 minutes to even come to our table. Then, we ordered the salmon with veggies (the semi-sweet glace was delicious), a good portion, and cooked as ordered. Additionally, I must said that food presentation is adorable. Our friend ordered the Burrata with dates, but they brought her a carpaccio. The waiter said it was an error in the kitchen).
They never annotated that we were celebrating my birthday, and to be honest, we were ready to leave after such a horrible service. They never refilled our water or offered a new round of drinks. The show started on time and was lovely. In summary, save your money and go to another place. I gave them 1 in-service because zero is not an option. This place desperately needs a floor captain and good supervision in the kitchen area. Even the waiter was arguing with some waiters next to us instead of greeting clients at the entrance. Well a service disaster,...
Read moreSecond visit, last time we went on a weekend and there was a show, last night was a Tuesday, no show and it lacked atmosphere, couldn’t hear the music and low vibes. Saving grace was the Buddha bowls were so tasty like last time and we were served by IRVINO who is incredible, major disappointment was the around the world cocktail for 2 at 28 euros which was like a smoothie, zero taste of alcohol, irvino took it away to add more but it still didn’t taste of alcohol and we left it, we own our own cocktail bar in Spain and our clients would have returned it and got a refund if they didn’t taste alcohol. On this basis we wouldn’t order cocktails again, we wouldn’t go on a weekday again, we WOULD go at a weekend and would go for lunch just for a Buddha bowl (which we also serve in our restaurant but blooms have the edge!)
One more thing they did the trick of bringing bread we didn’t order and charging it. They didn’t do that last time, not a fan...
