Bunji - The Place — Restaurant in Madrid

The entrance of the place makes you wonder what you will find inside, however the place doesn't disappoint. It's spacious, nicely decorated and has upbeat vibes. I would recommend booking the first floor tables if you want to oversee the place, the second floor I suggest if you want to have more private atmosphere. The menu itself is good, however for people who don't tolerate spicy food at all- watch out as there are quite a few things on the menu that are spicy. Also I would recommend always checking with the waiters the portion sizes as they are surprisingly big, so you might end up ordering too much by an accident. The chicken Parma was really good and we had no space left for desserts so I guess I'll have to come back :) Something that I really enjoyed from this place is the variety of the beers, my personal favourite was the TDeun Roja. Overall I think it's a nice place to go to , especially if they are having a concert(one more reason to book your table in the first floor) however book in advance as it tends to get quite busy during the weekends.

The only thing I would suggest to improve is to have a bit more options on the menu for the main food. It does seem a bit short for the "look" that this place...

We stopped by a few days prior to the rugby match to inquire if they would be showing the upcoming Rugby game. We were shown all the big screens, that it was an Australian bar and told with an enthusiastic yes, of course. We then went to reserve our table, the staff member even made a suggestion as to where would be the best spot to watch.

We were called by Bunji to double check the reservation ON THE DAY and we called a few hours before to see if it would be okay to reserve more spaces for our friends (yes! it was Happy Hour!According to staff).

Upon arrival we were asked a thousand questions what we were doing there, followed by a lot of confusion and agreement then none at all. We were also asked many times when we would leave. The final outcome was a disaster and frustration.

If it’s an australian bar with photos of rugby players then please live up to your concept. Otherwise, don’t bother and choose a different theme. A huge disappointment and please do something about your staff.

Bunji this is not a problem of misunderstanding. It is a problem of people working there and not understanding what kind of bar/restaurant that they are...

Fuimos a cenar un sábado noche con reserva, te ofrecen 15 min de cortesía y aún así casi nos declinan la mesa (Parking horrible, estuvimos 20min dando vueltas con el coche. Les llamaba por Tfno para avisar que estábamos allí y no lo cogían) Igualmente de primeras ninguna mesa figuraba como reservada con su típico cartel y muchas permanecieron vacías nuestra estancia hasta las 23:30h. La misma encargada nos dio la razón en el aparcamiento, pero a su vez no fueron las formas… Sentimos que querían aparentar ser un sitio muy demandado y luego la realidad se alejaba un sábado noche, primer fin de semana del mes…

En cuanto a la comida y servicio, no repetiremos. Todo soso, extremadamente soso sin grano de sal. Te ofrecen visualizar la carta en una tablet (No puedes pedirlo directamente en ella) Pedimos todo del tirón para ahorrar el paseo al camarero, pidiendo una cerveza Stella Artois y Hoegaarden (indicaba que se servía en vaso con naranja para darle un toque cítrico, pues me entregaron directamente el botellín lejos de la presentación… Empezábamos mal) y de comida Fake Croquetas, Gambas con salsa Kimchi, Chicken Tikka Masala y Picanha. Llegaron Tres platos de comida a los 5 min de la bebida, pero, a pesar de la rapidez donde apenas le habíamos dado un sorbo a la cerveza, el orden no fue el adecuado… Primero el Pollo Tikka Masala, servido con arroz, sin cuchara ni nada para servirlo a pesar de la salsa que no te puedes echar con el tenedor… El sabor del pollo sin más, mejorable. El arroz, más que soso… Después llegaron las gambas donde pasaba lo mismo con el arroz soso y ni cuchara. Y por último las croquetas… Creo que esto debería haber sido lo primero. La Picanha “que no falla” titulada por ellos, de ser caracterizada por muy tierna, extremadamente dura y también sin sal, la verdura que lo acompañaba y patatas igual. Además, la carne se hizo de rogar casi media hora, nos quedamos sin bebida y hasta que nos sirvieron nueva ronda donde cambiamos a un tinto y agua… Desbordados no estaban para justificarlo, os lo puedo asegurar. Tenían muchos camareros, pero también decir que el detalle del código de vestimenta que no existía para un sitio que intentaba ser top… La encargada que nos recibió vestía con un top sin sujetador marcando todo, hasta ahí puedo entender que quisiese llamar la atención y aún así no nos pareció del todo correcto… Pero el resto de camareros, cada uno llevaba una camiseta/polo/top con el nombre del local en pequeñito o sin ello, colores diversos que de espaldas no les reconoces, y los pantalones… muy apretados, rotos, pesqueros, shorts… Una diversidad que de verdad costaba reconocer si eran camareros. Algunos entre ellos se tenían que ayudar porque no eran capaces de llevar una sola bandeja con 4 cervezas… Detalles que marcan la diferencia. El baño era mixto, con lavabo en el medio para todos, pero cuidado con el último del lado derecho, la puerta estaba atascada para cerrar y me quedé encerrada durante 10 min hasta que el pestillo decidió salir… El DJ no empezaba hasta pasadas las 23:30h que nos marchábamos. En fin, muchas cosas a mejorar. Nosotros no volveremos ni lo recomendamos. El sitio es un quiero y no puedo, el local parece más de disco que de cena y aún así tampoco han sabido fusionarlo en...
