This was really an awesome place for a young adventurer to spend time, and a accurate indicator of Spanish life in this Madrid neighborhood . I arrived at 5pm on a Friday and the place was packed. Almost every sitting surface was taken, including some on the floor mostly by young Adults. Dogs chased each other around the square, children played on the 4 playgrounds situated on every corner of the Plaza. It was a great place for people watching. Since I was alone, after making eye contact with some people I went and joined them. They were very welcoming and nice. There were vendors selling beers, almost rude in their persistence. Almost everyone was drinking, until the police came and fought their uphill battle giving everyone warnings, WARNINGS, not tickets! It was a pleasant place because of the social aspect, but not a place to go relax. That's...

A simple plaza that’s a bit tucked away into smaller streets that’s name is based off of the start of the war for Spain’s independence against the French troops which were previously occupying Spain. There’s also a monument in the middle called ‘Monumento a Daoiz y Velarde’ based off of that as well because they were a big help in the start up.

Interestingly enough, there are 4 fairly small playgrounds at each side of the plaza as well. The plaza isn’t the cleanest that I’ve seen because there are a bit of garbage and grafiti here and there but it’s still a nice area to get a snack and stop here for a lunch break or to just chill with a friend or pet...

Very nice place one of the many plazas in Madrid. It is located in the area of Malazania the place where lived and worked one of my favorite musicians Manu Chao. All around it had 5 places for wine drinks and pizza. At the corner it had a pizzeria with many vegetarian pizzas. When the weather permits (and it does in the most part of the year in Madrid) the plaza attracts youth that sit around the middle of the square so I would say it is a good place to visit if you are 18-22 and you want to...
