Cafe San Ildefonso — Restaurant in Madrid

I stayed at the Only YOU Atocha for a few weeks while working. This place is across from the world famous Atocha train station. Don't be fooled by the picture menu. It's fast and easy service but it's not just tourists who eat here

The staff of many different places eat here. The food is good and cheap and cheerful. Staff are groovy and friendly

Plus you can get a lil steak eggs chips salad and bread for under ten euros Including a beer or glass of wine 🍷! 🍻

Terrible staff. We went is to ask to make a reservation for that evening or even the next day, when they heard us speak english, the man behind the bar was very rude yelling NO NO NO and gesturing us with hands to leave. We even tried to communicate in Spanish as we can get by, only to be laughed at by other staff members and then ignored. Very unhelpful and rude, they don’t care because they were full so i guess they don’t need more customers. Shameful behavior for cafeteria in a touristic city, avoid at all costs. My bf and I enjoyed our time at this cafe! First, it's right off the main train station, Atocha, so it's convenient. Second, our server was very friendly! We ordered 2 cafes, 2 Churros y Chocolat and 2 tortillas. We were about to order more because it was our last meal in Madrid, but our server was surprised and told us that'll be too much so he suggested no more and I'm glad he did lol!
