I met up with a friend yesterday to try out this restaurant I had been looking forward to discovering. My friend was already waiting outside when I arrived. As I walked in, the blonde hostess, without saying hello or even offering a smile – simply said “you can sit there,” pointing to a tiny corner of a table with no chair. She also mentioned we could sit at the main bar, which worked perfectly for us, so we went there. When it came time to order, I asked if I could see the cocktail menu, as it was clearly listed on the Google page. I was told they don’t serve cocktails. Surprised, I simply showed the Google listing so it could maybe be corrected. At that moment, there were two people behind the bar, neither smiled or acknowledged us, and one just replied, “we don’t serve them,” a fact I had already understood. When it was time to pay, a different person I hadn’t seen before handed me the card machine without even looking at us and not even a goodbye. The hostess also ignored our polite goodbye as we left. Russian salad was reminiscent of the classic Japanese egg salad with three gorgeous fried eggs on top.

The yuzu miso crudo was a miss for me, way over sauced and just a sloppy presentation.
