Cocina de Neptuno might seem appealing due to its prime location near Madrid’s museums and lively spots, but I wouldn’t recommend it. We ordered the Menú del Día and chose the huevos rotos and paella. Unfortunately, the food was barely warm, but since we were hungry, we decided to eat it anyway. The huevos rotos contained pieces of plastic, and the paella was overly salty with undercooked rice. When we brought it up with the waitress, she casually explained that the ham comes in plastic, as if finding packaging in your food was normal. She offered to exchange the dishes, so we opted for beef stew and soup instead. The soup was flavorless, and while the stew had potential, it was lukewarm at best. We gave up on the meal entirely and asked for the bill.

The waitress noticed we hadn’t eaten the replacements either and said she wouldn’t charge us for the meal, which sounded fair—but she only discounted €2. Overall, the experience was disappointing, from the poorly prepared food to the lack of care for customer service. If you’re visiting Madrid, take the time to find a spot that truly values quality and hospitality. There are too many amazing restaurants in this city to...

All the previous 5 star ratings and photos of recent reviews, by my observation today on May 5 for lunch, are accurate. I didn’t and wouldn’t have nachos here as one other review stated. Fixed price had lintel soup, steak with chimichuria sauce and roast (ish) potatoes were very nice with sumptuous desert. Someone said honest food at fair price. Yes! Four quick wait staff for about 18 tables plus kitchen staff. My Spanish friend called it traditional Spanish home cooking. We dodged in to get out of rain after Prada. Perfect. We are without mobility issues, but I spotted this fairly difficult looking ramp inside a step further out at foyer. Accessible?...

Excellent service and pleasant atmosphere. We had the tourist menu. The paella was excellent and very value for money. Not too sure about the two course menu. One of us had that and we tried the cold tomato soup, which was very good if you are into tomato. The main course of fish was not particularly appetising (forgot to take picture but it is probably a boil fish with sauce on top, and some baked potato that has no seasoning or oil). Still, I would highly recommend the paella. Excellent flavour and value for money.

Very bad, I would absolutely avoid going here if you are a tourist, they served raw chicken when asked to get it cooked, they threw the same cut pieces of chicken into a deep fryer and got it back with the same stale fries and horrible looking chicken, the cook in the restaurant is not worth calling chef of the restaurant. Looks all fancy in the centre of Madrid with horrible service and no regard for tourists.
