We were excited to dine at Edelweiss restaurant especially due to the countless rave reviews. We've been traveling throughout Spain for more than a month. Once of the benefits of traveling and international city such as Madrid enable the opportunity to experience a variety of cultural restaurants. We live in Mexico and speak Spanish, so I cannot attribute poor language skills to our dining disappointment. Unfortunately our experience was terrible. Our server should not be in the hospitality industry. Her animated eye rolls when we asked to refill our water carafe were a performance unto itself. When we requested olive oil for our bread, she couldn't be bothered. My husband ordered the German sausage. He was disappointed in the poor quality. The German dish I wanted to order sold out. I opted for the quinoa fruit salad. It was nice. Edelweiss restaurant has a beautiful interior and good menu. Unfortunately, our experience doesn't allow me to recommend this...
Read moreFor the price, so many things missed the mark here imo.
Waitress was absolutely painful, taking glasses away, then bringing them back 2 minutes later, changing the utensils while I'm in the middle of using them, and reaching extremely awkwardly over us to do so. Just a general lack of common sense or courtesy.
Music was too loud, extremely dated and just plain incorrect for the restaurant.
For the table we got: asparagus with brie cheese and salmon- 9/10 Oxtail on mashed potatoes- 5/10
Main course for myself was crunchy chicken in mushroom sauce (7/10), which tastes like mushu chicken (yes, Chinese food). Other main was chicken with the rockafor(?) Cheese sauce, also a 7/10
Presentation was good on the plus side, and the mix drinks we ordered were delicious
I left feeling neither full nor satisfied, and with quite a bit less money in my pocket. Overall, they have no idea how to run a restaurant of...
Read moreIt's necessary to update a previous 5 star rating. Unfortunately, the service, menu options and quality have declined. Our server misinformed us about the codfish dish. It wasn't what we had asked about before ordering. The large croquettes were way too crusty. The grilled goat cheese should have been creamier. The server should know that piling dirty plates on the table and reaching across the table with his arm directly in front of the face of the diners is poor protocol. The dinner menu is more limited than before, not as much selection. They seated us close to other tables, when there were clearly other open tables farther away. Nowadays, space between others is a health...
