Saw the good reviews and decided to come here for breakfast. The place is super cute and the terrace is a great place to enjoy the start of your day.
We had the cortado and cappuccino and both were quite good. My partner had the tomato toast and I had the Turkish eggs.
First off, it is quite an expensive place compared to the quality. I don’t mind expensive food, but only if the quality follows. The tomato tostada is basically what you would get anywhere else in a Spanish cafe, just for 5 euros more, regardless of the “fermented pulp”. My partner had the scrambled eggs on the side which were quite under seasoned and the bread was toasted a bit too much.
For me, I had the Turkish style eggs. Great flavor and everything was blending together nicely. Only minus is that the poached egg was quite undercooked. Besides that I felt like the meal was decent.
All in all, too expensive for what you’re receiving. Also the service was subpar, and not that attentive, we waited a bit for service and also had to go inside to pay, but I guess they were...
Read moreFOUR is an amazing restaurant/coffee shop. We stumbled upon it looking for some food before visiting the palace (just 5 min walk from the restaurant) and wow we were very happy to have just stumbled upon it.
The French toast is AMAZING. It is by far the best French toast I have ever eaten. My sister is gluten free and tried the gluten free bread they serve there and said it was the best GF bread she’s ever had. One of the owners gave me a free sample of an almond, tahini and chocolate dessert from the case up front and it was also delicious.
This is a great spot to just hang out for a breakfast or bring a laptop and get some work done. I wish I lived in Madrid so I could go more often! We loved it so much we went two days in a row on our 2.5 day trip. Lots of attention to detail both in the food and the atmosphere and the owners are...
Read moreAmazing food!!!!!! We ate here every day of our holidays and it was so good. Located a short distance from Plaza Mayor, Opera and the Royal palace, in a small quiet square which reminded me of a small hill top town in Majorca. All of the food is so delicious, it was hard to choose a favourite. The ingredients are top quality from local suppliers and the chefs are so imaginative and creative. Stand outs include- the daily special Beef Carpaccio, Vegan chocolate tart, babaganoush with flat breads, floral cheese with marinated figs. Fantastic natural wines and a lovely citrus IPA. Great choice of coffees and teas too. If in Madrid, you must try this- you won’t be...
