Illunbe Castellana — Restaurant in Madrid

We had a disappointing experience with the reservation system at Illumbe. We booked a table for 2:00 PM through Google Maps but weren’t seated until 3:00 PM, waiting with hungry kids. We specifically wanted the daily menu, only to be told it’s served exclusively on the terrace and that terrace tables can’t be reserved. Yet, while we waited, we saw free terrace tables and were told they were “reserved,” which felt quite frustrating and inconsistent.

After insisting and speaking to the manager, we were finally seated indoors and allowed to order from the daily menu.

That said, once we were seated, both the food and the service were genuinely good. It’s just unfortunate that the reservation and seating process was so disorganized...

Una de las experiencias más desagradables que he vivido en un restaurante por el trato lamentable de uno de los camareros.

Sentados en la terraza, y tras llevar a cabo la fea costumbre de plantarnos dos piezas de pan en la mesa sin haberlo pedido (ya que las cobran aparte), tuvimos la osadía de responder que no queríamos pan, y a partir de ese instante, su actitud cambió radicalmente, dirigiéndose a nosotros de forma borde, hostil y despectiva, creando una atmósfera tan tensa e incómoda que decidimos marcharnos sin pedir nada más que cuatro croquetas insípidas y dos bebidas, una comanda por la que nos sablaron 22,50 euros.

Un restaurante con esos precios desorbitados y una terraza sofocante sin ningún tipo de ventilador ni sistema de pulverización de agua, no se puede permitir el lujo de tratar así al cliente, por muchas bombillas con lucecitas que coloquen en la terraza, porque lo único que consiguen es que no vuelva nunca más, como va a ser nuestro caso.

Un lugar nada recomendable, a menos que tengan la suerte de ser atentidos por cualquiera de los demás camareros, que sí demostraron ser amables y profesionales. Una pena que entre ellos haya una persona tan alejada del concepto "hostelería" y de todo lo...
