La Musa de Espronceda" is a tapas bar named for Teresa Mancha, the inspiration of the romantic poet José de Espronceda. She lived in the building where this tapas bar is located. It is a quaint, rustic casual bar in Anton Martin area. When we arrived the bar area was packed, bustling with locals after a day of work. Our server was friendly and patient. She sat us, took our order and brought our drinks and dishes! We really enjoyed our meal. My favorites were the marinated pork tips that we ordered along with potatoes and padron peppers. Everything was cooked perfectly for dessert. For dessert we ordered two slices of cheesecakes, lemon and raspberry. It was last night in Madrid and we were not disappointed. I've read that tapas served here are good as well! Hopefully I can try when I return.

Arguably we went in at 3pm for a late lunch, and they had to clear a table for us. They didn't seem too happy about it but they did eventually. Most of the menu items weren't available which was fine, food took about 30 mins to arrive. Was tasty. Ordered a coffee to finish but he said the coffee machine was turned off so ordered a couple more drinks instead. Saw multiple trays of coffees come out afterwards for another 15 mins. He then said we can have a coffee. Eneded up having those drinks for free as I think he realised he was being rude. Overall was OK I guess but wouldn't head back in a rush. There are better places to drop in for lunch with friendlier service.

This place is just great. Walked in after a bad experience with another half empty place in the same block and this place was just bursting at the seams with people and really busy. Asked if I could have a beer and told me to grab whatever I could find and start drinking. Great l, friendly service, even when they were really, and I mean it, busy. They had a lot of interesting things and soon enough the 1 beer evolved into tapas and more beers and more food, and more beers…. Literally left when they were shutting off the place, 😂

QUIEN DICE QUE EN MADRID NO SE PUEDE IR DE PINCHOS! #L♥ VETHISPLACE
