It was our first night in Madrid and we were fully aware we booked 1 night in the “outskirts” of the main city center.
We were a bit jet lagged and got hungry towards the later end of the night. After searching a few restaurants that were open at this time, we found la pizza e Bella.
Like everyone has said, on the outside it looks like a hole in the wall but we decided to give it a try with a bit of hesitation.
Let me tell you, we are so happy we stopped here! It was a colder night so we dined inside, the staff are SO friendly. I am an intermediate Spanish speaker and they were happy to practice with me (even though I struggled a bit), we also met one of the locals that seems to be a frequent diner there.
The food was authentic and made with quality ingredients. We ordered the lasagna and one of the speciality pizzas. Magnifico!

The tomato sauce had this sweetish taste of canned tomatoes. The mushrooms didn't seem fresh either. Overall, both pizzas we had—Margherita & Assisi—were big disappointments. The burrata as a starter and the tiramisu for dessert are okay. The place itself looks like an unkempt bar, with cheap Italian music in the background. Among the worst...
