La Rollerie La Terrasse — Restaurant in Madrid

We came to La Rollerie with high expectations, due to the outstandingly aesthetic photos of it we saw online, and it generally did not disappoint! First of all, the interior design is absolutely stunning, but the surprisingly large, comforting and cozy terrace set-up was just phenomenal. We were sat outside and the experience was truly great.

The food was generally very, very good, the smoke burger was one of the best ones I've ever had, but it is on the smaller side which is a bit disappointing since it's priced at 14€. My friend had the salmon poke and said that it was divine, meanwhile we were both disappointed by the small ration of papas bravas, especially since it's priced at 7,90€ and we each got like 4 pieces, each. The tinto de verano was served in a huge cup, well priced at 3,50€, and the dessert, a 5,90€ apple crumble pie, was divine.

My only issues are with the service time, as it took a while for us to get seated in the first place, and then the food took ages to get to our table, and the questionable portion sizes because of their high price point. Don't get me wrong, the food was very good but there's a clear disconnect between quantity and price point.

The staff is by far the best asset of this place, super friendly and efficient which is a hard mix of skills to find in Madrid. The waiters are very nice, and though they keep a very well-organized reservation system in place I never felt like they were rushing me or making me feel unwelcomed. In fact when another group was coming to sit at our table we asked them if we could change to another one in the terrasse for a last drink and they happily accomodated us.

The only thing to improve (and the only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5) is the menu itself as I feel the brunch options are somewhat limited in comparison to other brunch places; but limited as it might have been we got served tasty food very promptly and a very nice mimosa too!

This is what service level quality is, making your costumers have the best possible experience from the moment they walk in to the moment they walk out!

🌿 La Rollerie La Terrasse – Un piccolo angolo di paradiso urbano (con qualche pecca nei tempi)

Siamo stati da La Rollerie La Terrasse per una colazione tra amici e devo dire che, esteticamente, è un vero gioiellino. L’ambiente è arredato con un gusto squisito: pareti in mattoncini, una scala bianca in ferro battuto, tantissime piante che pendono dal soffitto e dettagli curati che rendono l’atmosfera davvero accogliente. C’è anche un delizioso dehor esterno sotto un porticato, perfetto per le giornate di sole. La Rollerie è uno di quei posti in cui puoi andare in qualsiasi momento della giornata: colazione, brunch, pranzo o anche solo per una pausa. Il menù offre tante opzioni originali e interessanti, soprattutto per chi ama una colazione un po’ diversa dal solito. Abbiamo ordinato diverse tostate: pane con uovo e avocado, con bacon e avocado, burro e marmellata… tutte preparate con ingredienti freschi e di ottima qualità. Anche i croissant erano molto buoni, fragranti. Le combinazioni erano semplici ma curate, con un tocco originale (come la rapa rossa) che le rendeva interessanti senza essere eccessive. Tutto è presentato con grande cura, sia nel gusto che nell’aspetto. L’ambiente era vivace e pieno di gente, allegro e movimentato — cosa che rende l’esperienza ancora più coinvolgente. L’unico piccolo lato negativo sono stati i tempi d’attesa, un po’ lunghi nel nostro caso. Ma tutto il resto, dalla qualità del cibo all’atmosfera, ha reso la colazione assolutamente piacevole.
