Miss Jianbing — Restaurant in Madrid

Had the Miss Pekín (pictured) and it was delicious, albeit hard to eat. At first I thought it wasn’t a big enough portion, but I was satisfied. I also ordered the kimchi, which was delicious, although I would have liked it to be further fermented and the green soy bean drink, which was great.

Ultimately, removing a star because although the food was good, I do feel it is overpriced. Additionally, while the staff was working very hard, I do think they are understaffed as service was slow. My friend was left unable to start his meal for about 15min because of how belated his rice was delivered to the table.

I would like to return to try the cheaper jianbing options and...

Starting with the atmosphere (cozy and warm) and the impeccable service that is such a rarity nowadays, this already made us feel like we were welcomed in a family. Then there was the food. Unreal, authentic Chinese food. My friend who'd lived in China said it was the best jianbing she's ever had, and for me as well, after trying out many Chinese restaurants in Europe and having travelled to China and Taiwan before, this really hit the spot for me. Empecé a ir el año pasado cuando todavía estaba el antiguo local por el centro. Vi fotos en instagram sobre los crepes chinos y, junto con mi pareja, me decidí a probarlos. Fue de las mejores decisiones que tomé el año pasado. Es un aprecio asequible, la comida tarda poco en hacerse, por lo que no tardarán en servirse, y todo está riquísimo. Se está convirtiendo en una de mis comidas favoritas. Siempre que tengo dinero acabo pidiéndome dos o tres crepes. Además, puedes ver cómo lo hacen, comprobando que es algo casero.

Por otro lado, el lugar está súper cuidado y limpio (además tienen un gel hidroalcohólico con olor a fresa que huele súper bien). El servicio es 10/10. La dueña es súper maja y agradable, y siempre te recibe con una sonrisa. La camarera, lo mismo. Entre eso y que el sitio es pequeñito, consiguen un ambiente super cálido, como si fueses al restaurante de un amigo. Todas las veces que vamos nos saluda y se acuerda de nosotros.

Como digo, el sitio no es muy grande, así que merece la pena reservar para asegurarte la mesa, o sino tendrás que esperar o pedir para llevar.

La carta no es muy amplia (aunque tiene variedad de sobra), lo cual para mí es un punto a favor. En general no me gustan los sitios con 20 páginas en la carta y en los que no se especializan en nada. Ofrecen lo que saben hacer, y lo hacen muy bien.
