Restaurante Albor — Restaurant in Madrid

Amazing. Everything was perfect. We were a group of 3 tourists, and had reserved a table for the evening. We started off by sharing some starters - the scallops and the tempura - which were both delicious aswell as super creatively and uniquely presented. For the main dish, one of us ordered the 45 day aged sirloin, while the rest of us had the iberian pork. I myself had the pork, but I also tasted the sirloin. Both were seriously amazing with delicious sides that just tasted perfect together with the meat. For dessert we shared the chocolate with olive oil aswell as the caramelized pistachio flan, which to no surprise tasted amazing, and were incredibly unique. The food and service together was a better experience than anywhere else that we have tried in Spain. This restaurant could EASILY be priced 2-3x higher, and still be good for its value! - I’m serious! I am honestly so positively shocked that it is not more expensive, as I have tried other restaurants at double the price which had worse food than here. Super impressed with this restaurant in the Atocha/Delicias neighborhood. They staff were very attentive without being overbearing and it’s very rare to get 5 star service in Madrid restaurants. The food was local, fresh and beautifully made- just impeccable and healthy. You could get the menu del Dia and feel like you have eaten a very healthy and authentic Spanish meal that has been made by a Spanish abuela! The decoration makes you feel like you are eating in a very upmarket restaurant but without feeling to stuffy. Very clean and pretty. No recomendado en absoluto! esta noche mi pareja y yo teniamos una reserva para cenar en Albor, por error mi pareja selecciono 3 comensales en lugar de 2 a la hora de reservar online. Llegamos al restaurante 5 min antes de la reserva cuando de manera MUY desagradable, el dueño del local nos dice que para esas cosas se llaman.. que eramos 2 personas en lugar de 3 y que le habiamos fastidiado la mesa... Despues nos mira y se queda callado con cara malhumorada.. lo cual me parece una falta de respeto increible hacia sus clientes, haciendonos sentir incomodos y bastante mal por un simple error. Le pregunto si pasa algo o hay algun problema ya que se queda callado sin decirnos nada...y se va a mirar algo con cara desagradable. De inmediato le digo que no se preocupe que le dejamos la mesa libre para que pueda atender a 4 personas y generar el doble de ganancias puesto que ya las maneras eran bastante malas y no ibamos a estar agusto cenando alli con esas contestaciones. El señor ya cambia el tono y dice que no, que podriamos sentarnos en la mesa.. pero ya cuando entras en un restaurante con toda tu buena actitud, haciendo una reserva y llegas a la hora.. y por un simple error te tratan asi.. me deja mucho que desear.

Teniamos pensado tantear el lugar porque tambien nos interesaba llevar a cabo un evento y desde luego con esas malas maneras lo hemos descartado de inmediato.

La comida sera buena ( que no lo se porque ni hemos cenado) pero desde luego con gente asi.. se le quitan a uno las ganas.

Por cierto que teniendo contacto con el sector del vino y la hosteleria no recomendare este lugar en absoluto a mi red de contactos ni conocidos pues el mal sabor de boca que deja que te atiendan asi en un lugar es muy desagradable y con la cantidad de buenos locales que hay por la ciudad..
