Six Board Game Cafe — Restaurant in Madrid

An excellent idea but with some room for improvement. This place is everything one ever wanted to have in Madrid: a cozy place not far from the city center with lots of board games available and some nice and simple options to snack while you do so. But the implementation is still a bit problematic. First of all, the place was absolutely crowded when I visited it (as expected on a Saturday evening), making the space unbearably noisy and in urgent need of some ventilation. Maybe management could do a better work in instructing the players on how to enjoy themselves without ruining everyone else's experience. Also, either better AC or less people inside ir mandatory: the air gets unbreathable there. Regarding the board games, we tried two and both were in good condition. But we missed some kind of order in the library that made it easier to choose a game according to your needs and your capabilities, or at least some kind of advice from the staff. I guess I will go to this place again because I really enjoy boardgames, but I'd prefer doing so after they improve it...

The place itself is very vibrant, colorful and fun. The games selection is pretty limited; we have been to other board game cafes with more diverse collection. The food was at best okay, nothing impressive but definitely overpriced for the quality. The chocolate fondue was one of the highlights of the menu and really worth the calories and the money :D On the day we went, they had a problem with the fryer so nothing fried was available. They were struggling with their service; it appeared that they were understaffed on that day although it was a weekend and the place was fully booked but the food typically took more than an hour to be served!! The smoothies were nice though. Overall, the place is nice; you can order smoothies and desserts only and you can also bring your own games...

En nuestro caso fuimos 6 personas, reservamos desde las 17:00 hasta las 00:00. El personal nos atendió y nos dió unas indicaciones sobre la "fianza" que tienes que pagar de forma muy clara, nos atendió un chico joven que si no recuerlo mal era rubio y un hombre calvo que igual fue muy agradable.

Los juegos estan en un estado aceptable, algunos con fundas en las cartas, los que hemos probado este estilo de locales sabemos que es normal que esten en un estado regular. Nada que objetar. En comparación con otros locales de juegos de Madrid la cantidad de juegos es poca y además son la mayoría los juegos "tipicos" (Nos dijeron que la lista de la web esta totalmente actualizada, se pued3 comprobar que juegos tienen). Como único punto a mejorar de todo esto son las sillas que para tantas horas son algo incómodas.

El problema de el lugar es sin duda la comida, en nuestro caso pedimos hamburguesas y focaccias. Las hamburguesas dejaban bastante que desear, tanto en tamaño como en calidad, pues la carne estaba dura y fría, además ni si quiera te dejan elegir el punto de la carne o al menos no nos dijeron nada. En las hamburguesas con cebolla caramelizada, prácticamente no se notaba y las focaccias venían con muy muy poco contenido. En mi plato conté 16 patatas gajo, de bolsa y pequeñas con algo que diría que era orégano (puede ser otra especia, no lo recuerdo bien). Las patatas frías y muy probablemente no hechas recientemente. Sinceramente nos molestó mucho, pues al reservar te obligan a decidir una franja de comidas y ya que lo exigen, lo esperabamos caliente al menos.

En conclusión, para ir a jugar esta muy bien, para ir a comer por 17-19€ esta mejor un goiko, un TGB o un foster que te cuesta parecido y al menos...
