S'assecador — Restaurant in Manacor

I had a lunch. From what I could gather, it's a busy restaurant and their main seller is paella. Cars were pulling up to collect take away. Unfortunately paella is for two persons, understandably. Why is seafood pasta for two person nobody knows I've ordered two from the starter menu: fried small fish, sardines I believe, and mussels in tomato sauce. Fried fish were larger than usual, meaning they arrived with intestines, not very nice but couldn't be bothered to tell them as it took for ever to order it. Mussels came in a large pot, very surprised at that, however food was cold. When asked about it, I was told it's how they serve it here. Which of course is a nonsense. And probably a health hazard. Confused, erratic, unhelpful, rude. Shame. Paella...

Don't go! I don't like writing negative reviews, but i need to share this one. We went for lunch today as we had visited Porto Cristo 3 years ago and had a very enjoyable lunch here on that visit. What a difference! Service was very slow. Not one of the serving staff or owner (older gentleman) could offer a smile, and they all looked very unhappy. It took a long time to place an order, even though more than half the tables were empty. It took a long time to receive any food for a very simple order. Mixed Salad. Steamed Mussels. Fried anchovies. Sautéed Prawns. Other tables who arrived after us received food before us. When the food finally arrived (35 minutes after ordering), everything arrived at once, except no salad. And the mussels were cold. Obviously sat waiting to be served! And we never received the salad! I'm guessing we suffered from clearly being tourists, even though I conversed in Spanish! ¡No vayas! No me gusta escribir críticas negativas, pero necesito compartir esta. Fuimos a almorzar hoy porque habíamos visitado Porto Cristo hace 3 años y tuvimos un almuerzo muy agradable aquí en esa visita. ¡Qué diferencia! El servicio fue muy lento. Ninguno de los empleados de servicio o el propietario (un señor mayor) pudo ofrecer una sonrisa, y todos parecían muy descontentos. Tardaron mucho en hacer un pedido, a pesar de que más de la mitad de las mesas estaban vacías. Tardaron mucho en recibir la comida para un pedido muy simple. Ensalada mixta. Mejillones al vapor. Anchoas fritas. Langostinos salteados. Otras mesas que llegaron después de nosotros recibieron la comida antes que nosotros. Cuando finalmente llegó la comida (35 minutos después de ordenar), todo llegó a la vez, excepto que no había ensalada. Y los mejillones estaban fríos. ¡Obviamente nos sentamos a esperar a que nos sirvieran! ¡Y nuncan recibimos la ensalada! ¡Supongo que sufrimos por ser claramente turistas, a pesar de que...

The most insulting Manager I have ever had to deal with, when I told him the paella was terrible, with small broken crab shell in every small mouthful, and his waiter would not deal with us because he was too busy drinking wine, he called the police. I refused to pay the full price, but paid him half of the main dish and paid full price for everything else. I asked him for his complaints book, he refused and tried to push me back into my seat. So I took a picture of the money with the recipe I had given, as I do not trust him, then got up and went.

Avoid this restaurant if you do not want a drunken waiter and scraps not fit...
