ANGUS Marbella-SteakHouse — Restaurant in Marbella

Fawlty Towers... My family of 8, including 3 children visited 2 days ago. It took 3 adults to take our order. Bread rolls were brought to the table, which we had not asked for, though ate them due to waiting too long. These were later added to our bill. We waited ages despite the fact we were the only diners there at 17.30 hours. Something we should have taken on board beforehand. The food was brought to the table at different times and half the order was missing. None of the steaks or burgers had been cooked as we had requested. When we complained they fogged us off, then insulted us by holding up their steak colour chart to show us how steaks look. When we pointed out the colour of the meat we had 'compared to their chart' we were completely ignored. We asked them to take the food away and asked for the bill. We made it clear we would not pay for the steaks. Another long wait for the bill then just before it arrived the waitress came over and put a plate in front of me with a new steak. By this time we had started to pack up our belongings. When I told the waitress i didnt want it, she put her hands together as if to pray! Then she pleaded with me to eat the steak. The bill arrived around 250 euro. When we reminded them we weren't going to pay for the steaks and burgers they told us that was not possible. They had also put items on the bill we had not ordered and had over charged on other items. It was a complete farce. WE deducted around 120 euro from the bill. They weren't happy and I when I asked them to call the police they took our money and we left. This place is run by amateurs. There is no excuse it is supposed to be...

To start off, the food is excellent. We had steaks, burgers, ribs and salads on the table. All absolutely delicious.

However it wasn’t enough to justify the terrible service. We were seated in a hot stuffy corner, I asked the hostess if we could move to a table with more air, she said it’s impossible as they were full. We spent the whole night at the table fanning ourselves with menus while there were numerous tables open around us by the window with a breeze which stayed open the whole time we were there! We waited a long time to order so by the time the waiter came and we wanted to order everything he stated he was just the drinks waiter and brushed it with “welcome to Spain” (that’s not Spain and he was not Spanish)

We waited another 15-20 minutes thereafter to order food after what seemed like the manager told us twice he would come help us. The food was fairly quick and as I stated delicious. Whenever something was forgotten they were quick to blame each other.

Finally we waited almost 30minutes to get the bill. This included waiting to get someone’s attention, the manager again motioning three times he would be with us, me having to walk up to him and ask for the bill. He then proceeded to not give it to us and us having to ask again. He brought it with the machine and walked away again! I had to follow the waiter who then had the machine to pay. The service was so shocking! Definitely made the experience bad enough to not want...

We were excited to attend this restaurant after seeing the great reviews and the menu a few days before. Unfortunately we were sorely disappointed. The staff were unorganised and frantic to begin with which made the overall atmosphere difficult to relax in. We ordered the sliders as a small sharing starter. The buns had been heated which made them crispy and dry, there wasn't much meat in them at all and the overriding flavour was the sauce. For mains we both ordered the rib eye. It came out looking delicious. The steaks were huge. Unfortunately my steak was rare instead of medium rare so had to be sent back to be cooked a little longer. When it came back it was blackened on the outside but still just about edible. The chips were not fresh either. One saving grace was the jacket potato with alioli. It was delicious and by far my favourite part of the meal which is unfortunate in a steak restaurant! The staff had a strange habit of rushing around one minute then standing right next to your table the next. At one stage one of the waiters was stood beside our table watching us eat then swiftly took away or plates just before we had finished eating! The whole experience was a bit stressful and the food was not amazing to make up for that unfortunately. We were planning to return to try some of their other dishes but after that experience we will not...
