Casa del Mar Marbella Extremely bad experience!!
We were 3 adults and 1 child looking for a restaurant to enjoy our evening meal at.
Walking along the Paseo we dropped into the restaurant Casa del Mar in Marbella.
We were welcomed and got a table. So far so good...
But...we had to wait a very long time to get our drinks that we ordered which was: 1 cola, 3 cañas and a water. The restaurant was not super busy...
When the waiter finally arrived, she immediately spilt a cola all over my wife, all there was left was 2 cm in the bottle...so imagine sitting in a restaurant with all your clothes full of sticking sugar from the cola...just lovely 😡
At the exact same time, another waiter was also there to take our food order - and the two colleagues looked at each other - and laughed...about the situation?!?!?
No excuses to my wife, not even: I am sorry... nothing else but laughter.. Ehmmmm....is this really funny, getting your evening clothes full of sugar cola sticking all over you?
Then some other crazy steps happened - the waiter was about to fill the remaining 2 cm cola in the glass and serve it!?
Hallooooo.. Where is your situation awareness!?
We just looked at each other and agreed that we would leave immediately as we felt super angry from the feeling for this sad and extremely customer hostile behavior from the 2 waiters!
We told them that we would like to pay for the drinks and would definitely not order food.
When we paid, they had the cola on the bill too....😡
Come on, what are you thinking about... First you spill a full cola on my wife all over her clothes, not saying sorry...but laughing and then you also want us to pay for it...!?
No way, we said absolutely no to pay for the cola and then the waiter smashed the card payment machine loudly on the table after she deducted the cola!
By the way, the 3 canas were so small - around 20 cl and the price for them were 10,50 euro 😅
We have now been living in Spain for 6 years and this behavior was the absolute worse until now.
A very good advice to the 2 waiters: Remember its not the restaurant owner that pays you salary - it is the restaurants customers!!!
And a very good advice to the owner of this restaurant:
You own a lovely looking restaurant, but with rude staff, you will not make it!
Have a serious talk with your staff about what good customer service is, so you dont loose more customers!
We will never ever come back to this place and we will never recommend this place to our friends or anyone else, we will instead warn others not to do it!

Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant and I must say, it exceeded all of my expectations. The food was absolutely delicious, with the seafood being particularly incredible. But the standout dish for me was the cheesecake - it was simply stunning.
To complement my meal, I ordered the sangria which was easily the best in the region. The addition of fresh fruits made it all the more enjoyable. And to cap off the evening, I had some amazing coffee which was the perfect end to a perfect meal.
But it's not just the food and drinks that impressed me. The restaurant also took great care to ensure that their facilities were clean and well-maintained, with the toilets being especially tidy.

Read morePoor service. A family of 10 visited for a 70th birthday last week and the service was disappointing.
The staff took a long time to take our order, serve our food and didn’t come to clear our plates or ask if we would like another drink. We feel this reason was because we were not of Spanish origin, we were quite surprised as we would have thought the restaurant would be happy with the business of a table of 10 people.
We had to go searching for a server to clear our table and to ask for the bill, I was embarrassed to bring my family here for a 70th birthday celebration.
I asked an older male server how can I make a review and he prentended that he didn’t understand English, when I explained why his attitude was like nothing I’ve witnessed before.
It’s extremely disappointing as I would like to return for tapas but not if this is how staff...
