Pros:
good spot to get sun whilst you eat
caters for families and groups
Seafood tastes fresh
The location and view to the ocean and the portion are the better selling points. I did witness them melt butter and caramelise orangen juice alcahol and pancakes which looked diabetically divine as a young person genuinely this looked and smelled delicious without a concern to my glycemic index.
The paella was substantial and filling and seasoned well. beautiful colours, bravo.
It is hard to find a restraunt that isn't just tapas, essentially just side dishes and alcohol, so refreshing to find filling food.
Cons:
sangria- I'll advise you pray to the local saint you aren't given an old red wine already opened. The sangria I had tasted like a red bottle was open for longer than 3days, the lemonds and fruit added as garnish and not squeezed and mixed. it was not sweet but it was strong as if they used reserve wine on the plus side.
The Paella octopus bits were akin to rubber, chewy not soft
The prawns were not "butterfly" prawns I.e. they did not cut open the back of the prawn and remove the stool. In the UK we say the prawns have not been cleaned. this is like washing a fish without removing its intestines.
The bread in the image was charged at €1.90 despitenbeing offered as if complimentary. The butter provided was as if they took out of fridge hard and when you try to butter bread the bread is ruined because it is to hard to spread. the bread in unremarkable.

Read moreFood was very good. However 2 women were allowed to enter and sit at a table when they were obviously totally annebriated and under the influence of drugs. They were extremely loud and abusive. They shouted profanities at the couple sitting next to us and were extremely offensive. The maitre' d hid out the back and pretended he didn't know what was happening. I went to the loo and one of them tried to get in which was somewhat scary. I confronted the maitre'd and told him what I thought but he laughed it off saying that they were Americans... as if that was any excuse. He totally disregarded what I had to say. This was my birthday meal and was somewhat overwhelmed by both the dreadful women and the spineless maitre'd.... The other staff were obviously told not to intervene but send rather embarrassed by the whole situation. I would...
Read moreDuring our visit to Marbella, I was recommended to eat at Restaurante La Barca for paella. We love love this restaurant so much that we are here twice in 3 days. Their food is incredible, large rations, and the prices are great compared to home.
Our favorite is the ensalada de la casa (house salad) with fresh romaine, avocado, tuna, cucumbers, tomatoes, and white asparagus. Huge salad for only $10 - Elaine from Seinfeld would be impressed 😆 their paella was very large and best I've had.
Street parking is difficult but there is a nearby parking garage. If you park in the street, make sure to follow the rules and pay at the meter. Otherwise, if you get a parking ticket, go to the police station and pay - save 50% 😜
I highly...
