Lovely food but the service wasn’t great.
The food was wonderful, with great presentation and good value. However the staff felt rushed and it felt almost rude to interrupt what they were doing. Every interaction with a staff member was with a different member of staff, providing no familiarity, which lead to confusion with whose drinks were whose, whose food was whose and even if we had paid!
When we ordered our food, the waiter kept turning away, as if distracted by something else, and we had to repeat our order multiple times to him as he kept turning around.
The food came and it was really nice. Well cooked meat and tasty sides, large portions too and relatively good value for money despite it being one of the more expensive restaurants in the shopping mall.
I was watching other tables as one waiter delivered food to a table, not knowing whose was whose, as another waiter was directing him to whose food was whose. It made the people at the table look rather confused.
We finished our food and the waiters came to collect our plates, multiple staff came rushing to our table as if it was computing to clear our table first. It all felt quite stressful, especially for the waiters.
I feel it would be better if one member of staff served a small amount of tables, that way you keep familiarity with the person serving you, and the whole experience feels a bit more relaxing.
When we came to pay, we asked a man in a black shirt for the bill (who we assume was the manager as he was dressed differently to the rest of the staff), as he was nearest at the time. A different member, one that hadn’t served our table yet, came with the bill and a small free shot of liquor (which is common in all the restaurants here).
A few minutes later another waiter comes with a card machine. We pay. Then another waiter comes again with a different card machine, prompting us to pay. We show him our receipt which we luckily kept.
Like I say it would be much more beneficial if one member of staff would serve designated tables so they can keep track of things.
Overall the food was really nice and I would recommend going, however it was just our experience that was a bit below standard. The resultant was busy but they always seemed to fibre space to seat newcomers. Hopefully they can fine tune this by the time the summer season comes, as we visited in March.
Also the did provide a takeaway box for food we could not finish. Deserts looked nice but we were far too...
Read moreAwful, kept waiting for a waiter to take the order then when the food finally arrived there was stuff missing. My friend had the gammon and specifically asked for the egg yokes to be cooked through - they weren’t! Her meal was supposed to be served with salad and chips - there was no salad. I had a ham and mushroom omelette, which was mediocre, bland and tasteless, served with salad and chips. When it arrived there was neither salad nor chips so a different waiter had to go and get them. TBH the chips were terrible, looked like they’d been cooked at lunch time then re-heated cos they were rock hard and actually cut the side of my tongue cos they were that sharp. My husband got the mixed meat kebab and we had to attract the waiter’s attention to get him to take the meat off the skewer. The piece de resistance was when it was time to pay. As we were two couples we asked for two separate bills - it all came on one bill! We then asked for the card machine to pay the bill to be told the Spanish banking system was down so there were no card payments. Apparently it had been down since 8pm yesterday evening. We didn’t arrive at the restaurant until about 8.30pm so a heads up from the waiter that they couldn’t accept card payments would’ve been helpful!! Fortunately we were able to cobble together enough money to cover the bill but I’m sure there’d’ve been people who, following Covid, no longer do cash who would’ve been snookered!! The final nail in the coffin for me was the totally unacceptable behaviour from the man who reckoned he was the owner, along with two other restaurants! We were made to feel like it was our fault we didn’t know about the Spanish banking system crash but tbh, I’m here on holiday to relax and forget about stuff and not surprisingly, it wasn’t on my list of priorities to keep abreast of Spain’s financial situation!! Totally unprofessional, nasty and aggressive! We won’t be back and if I could’ve given no stars at all I would’ve!! ** Just to set the record straight having read the “owner’s” response to my review. The only person who was shouting and gesticulating was the “owner” and at no point was ANYBODY treated like an animal by my friend’s husband who is the most controlled person I’ve ever come across in my life!!!!!! Shockingly unprofessional and a definite case of sour grapes here because the service, food and attitude of the “Owner” was...
Read moreWent here as it looked like a more upper class experience compared to the surrounding restaurants, and we got a table after waiting for a minute or so. The gentleman who took us to the table was energetic, kind and funny.
We got asked for our drinks order moments later which arrived promptly, and our food order was also taken just after this.
We received the food in good time (I ordered the American style steak and my friend ordered garlic king prawn tagliatelle) which was absolutely superb. The food was full of flavour, my steak was cooked to my preference perfectly and it was presented beautifully.
We both had a desert which was again absolutely delicious, and the service staff were very kind and helpful. The only issue was when the (presumably) owner tried to persuade us to move to a less desirable table right next to the kitchen from our edge seat towards the front. We didn’t want to move half way through our dining experience and after a bit of persistence he did accept this and moved on.
Overall very pleased with this restaurant, and it was by far the best one we visited...
