Called in for a late lunch at 16:00 on a quiet Thursday in late September. Food was exceptional: a really novel “broken eggs” where the ham was dried and shredded, and sprinkled on top of the dish; and a wonderful carpaccio. Service wasn’t particularly quick or attentive, but the most confusing thing was the menu. Maybe it’s changed this summer, but there was no sign of the tapas favourites you’d expect and that are pictured in other google reviews for this restaurant. We persevered and chose a dish each anyway as we’d already ordered drinks, and were rewarded for it, but it was a close run thing and we could just as easily gone elsewhere.

If you are at the Murica Center, I highly recommend to visit La Tapa! Can say that it can be a good place for both lunch and dinner so just book an appointment! I would say that if you are looking for a place to meet with a group of friends that's more than four people, then I recommend you to sit outside. But, if you are having a cute dinner date or a meeting with less than four people, I highly recommend you to sit inside! We have ordered multiple food, and honestly, every one of them was so nice that I cannot pick a best dish! Lovely staff with great food so highly recommend!! :)

My wife & I went to this bar last night for a drink, as it is around the corner from our acommodation & appeared to be a nice place to try. We sat at the bar & ordered wine & olives which were served promptly.

I then ordered two anchovy tapas which the server understood; not being a Spanish speaker, I used Google translate to get the wording correct, and he repeated the order to confirm it. He even double checked that we wanted two dishes.

After a wait of about 30 minutes, I chased the order, it was only anchovies so shouldn't have taken so long, and again this was confirmed with the server. We then had to wait again for what seemed to be far too long considering what we ordered, and just as we were giving up a plate of steak & boiled potatoes arrived with the server insisting it was what we ordered when he obviously knew it wasn't. After some 'discussion ' amongst the staff, this was taken away. We never received the anchovies.

It was disappointing to see that other tables received their orders well before ours should have been served.

I then asked for the bill which didn't arrive until I had chased it with the man who appeared to be in charge. 3 glasses of wine & a dish of olives was around €12 so that was a pleasant suprise.

Unfortunately this experience has resulted in a poor review. Maybe if the staff had spent less time chatting with their friends at the table next to us and concentrated on doing a better job serving us, this review would have been...

Two servers, both good. I'll give the second one benefit of the doubt.

Because when were to pay, we felt tricked a bit by the menu. We tried ordering half a portion sea food paella for my wife. As we come to understand, one can't order half a portion. That's okay, the menu listed two prices. Half a portion for 8 euro (?), and full portion for 16 euro. We ordered the full paella anyway. When the bill came, we had to pay 32 euro for the one setting of paella.

Logic, fair business practice, and common sense dictates that the smallest possible order can't be TWICE (32) the top price (16) listed for the dish. This is extremely dishonest practice. To top it all off, we couldn't finish it, because the food was saltier than the sea.

Edit after response from owner:

I realize that there is a minimum to order, since you have to make minimum ONE plate.

That is not the issue. The issue is that this is not listed on the menu, since the menu lists half a portion or a full portion. And NEITHER of these were available to us.

This is dishonest business practice, and this is NOT how other restaurants do it.

The 32 EUR were more than I have ever paid for 2 portion paella dish.

AND it was so salty that we couldn't finish it. NOT a taste issue, as this was clearly not tasted by a human person before...

Horrible experience! We received the English menu and ordered angus entrecote. I asked for medium rare and received a it well cooked. We asked for vegetables and received potagoet. We sent it back and we received our vegetables after we finished our steak. We also got charged for that while the ober said that the angus steak comes with either vegetables or potatoes. On the menu it said the price was 25 euro but on the bill it said 28 euro. So we asked why we got charged extra and then one of the waiters came to us and startes yelling at us in spanish that the only English menu they had had old prices. Sure how would we know? I felt embarrased to be shouted at in the middle of the terrace. Most of the waiters where friendly though but this guy really went to far and we didnt get any apology except for his colleague who said sorry for the misunderstanding on the bill. I will never come here again, I really felt like I wasn't treated normally. Even when we said "gracias" when they brought something to our table we didn't receive a simple "de nada". Basic respect. I havr never felt this bad treated and management should do...
