Terrible! Avoid this restaurant!
We visited this restaurant last week while on holidays and had a horrible experience. We ordered 3 chicken with pepper sauce and after waiting over an hour we asked if it would be much longer. The waiter said it would be 5 minutes, however we then had to ask again 10 minutes later and still told it would be 5 minutes. We eventually got our food after 1 hour and 30 minutes, with no apology from the woman who served us. When we commented on how long we had to wait, she started speaking in Spanish and then said that WE SHOULD HAVE GONE TO BURGER KING IF WE DIDNT WANT TO WAIT 1HR 30MIN ON FOOD !!
Firstly, I don't think it's acceptable to wait this length of time anywhere for food, especially for a simple meal like chicken breast and pepper sauce. There wasn't even a variety of different dishes to be prepared, they were all the same. Secondly, nearly all the tables had food when we sat down, and all of the tables who came in after us had then been served their starters, and some had even moved on to their main meals. The cherry on top was the woman said this passive aggressive comment to us in Spanish, clearly believing we would not understand. We then called her back to the table and confronted her with what she had said. She began to get very nasty and shout at us, then the chef (her husband) came over to the table, bent down and also started to shout in our faces. He then snatched our plates of food away and the wife pushed us out of the restaurant. Not only was the wait time for food ridiculous, but I have never been treated like this in a restaurant in all my life. Instead of apologising and offering us drinks on the house, or sending over some complimentary bread and olives to keep us from being too hungry, they were extremely rude and aggressive. We then had to find another restaurant to eat at 10.30pm - thankfully there are plenty of other places and we managed to get served food in 15min at another restaurant - also chicken and pepper sauce so clearly not that difficult to master! I would urge everyone to avoid, mainly because I would not wish this experience on anyone else but also because there are so many other restaurants who deserve your business more than...
Read moreWe clearly hit the bullseye choosing this place for dinner. Half-hidden between a bunch of beachy bazars and other restaurants that need someone trying to bring you in from the street (that's screaming "not here" for me) there is this place with amazing meats and food and an 'outside' grill (basically in the patio) where you see this master cooking your meat orders to perfection, right there by guests sitting in the patio. This man evidently loves what he does and takes pride doing and incredible job with the meat. You can see it. You can also see the cuts you can order, right there in a fridge by the grill, although inside.
We were this close to order a chateaubriand but we couldn't take on 1 kg of meat and ended up ordering a beef brocheta (skewer) and a platter with jamón ibérico and manchego cheese. The cheese was epic. Strongly flavored and still not very stiff, like I haven't had in some time. The jamón was excellent. There was zero left and we would have licked the platter if it wasn't inappropriate. The beef in the skewer was perfect for me. It couldn't have been any more tender, juicy, flavorful and better grilled. I enjoyed every bite of it, and the amount was perfect for me, as I can't take on a full-sized entrecot anymore. The coleslaw it comes with was fine, but the baked potato was...well, fantastic. They even nailed that, being just a baked potato with mayonnaise. Yummy.
You can tell they have fantastic food just for the amount of friends they greeted and hugged that came to have dinner in the time (over 1 hour) we were there. It's the steakhouse where locals go to eat steak and quality food. Enough said.
We'll definitely come back some other time for dinner if we have the chance, and I will skip lunch just to make room for that chateaubriand that we [regrettably] didn't dare...
Read moreI went to El Patio with my husband hoping to enjoy a nice dinner, but it turned into a terrible experience. As I’m pregnant, I was very clear when ordering that I wanted a 0.0 alcohol-free beer (like a San Miguel 0.0), as even regular “alcohol-free” beer can contain 0.3% or 0.5% alcohol, which I cannot have according to my doctor.
Unfortunately, they brought me a normal beer with alcohol instead. I didn’t realize it until my husband noticed the label on the bottle, but by then it was too late—the whole bottle was already gone. When we approached the staff about the mistake, they just laughed it off, acting like it wasn’t a big deal. I was really upset, especially being pregnant, but they showed no concern whatsoever.
At this point, we hadn’t even received our food, and I no longer felt comfortable staying, so we tried to leave. That’s when the situation escalated. They insisted we had to pay the bill, even though we didn’t get our food, and things got aggressive. Suddenly, three large tattooed men surrounded our table and wouldn’t let us leave, intimidating my husband in a very threatening way. It was an awful and terrifying experience.
I highly recommend avoiding this place, especially if you’re pregnant or care about how you’re treated as a customer. The staff is unprofessional, and the...
