I will start by admitting the red meats were good... but everything else was bad.
Service: the waiters were irritable from the time we entered the restaurant and approached us thrice in five times forcing us for an order and on the third time the waiter said we are closing the kitchen so you need to order now... this was at 10:30PM
As with most restaurants, we were served bread and some aioli and to make sure it was complimentary we asked s waiter that brought us the water if the bread was chargeable and were told. “No no it’s free”.
When my wife asked what the little icons against each menu item was the waiter snapped at her saying “it doesn’t matter!!” She looked at him and he understood that she was upset and he then said the icons are incorrect and cause a lot of problems.
Food: we ordered a few sangrias, a beer, a plate of grilled peppers, manchego cheese, a mixed grill, steak Diane, chicken kebab and spaghetti bolognese for the kids. One of the kids said the bolognese tasted like spaghetti with ketchup - I’d have to agree. The chicken kebab was flavorless and the steak Diane was well done when we asked for all the meats to be done to medium. In the mixed grill - the chicken was meh, the pork chop over done and the veal was the only thing we enjoyed.
When the bill came we noticed that we had been charged €6 for the bread that was served and then noticed that the sangrias were €4.9 as opposed to the €3.9 on the menu. When we called the waiter over she said “no the bread is never free” and we explained that the waiter had told us it’s free... so she asked which waiter and we pointed him out. She then called him over and he proceeded to put on his best poker face and say “no no it was not me... why would I say that!” We then said ok how much do the sangrias cost as we got charged extra per drink and she just made a face... walked off with the bill and came back five minutes later with a revised bill.
In the revised bill they had taken off the charge for the bread, the extra euros they charged per sangria and didn’t say a thing. We paid our bill and left.
We realized after leaving that we were probably over charged for a number of dishes as we hadn’t checked the prices per item and remembered what the sangria cost as we were comparing it to what it cost in Seville...
Overall: average food, poor service coupled with cheating waiters all make for a terrible experience. I’d steer clear of...
Read moreBy far the best steak i have ever had. Went to this restaurant with my family and got great service right away. My 6 year old daughter got paper and crayons and there was also a playground for her at the back of the restaurant. Along with the menu came bread and aioli (which they charged us for at the end). The bread was dry but the aioli was really good. The menu is large and it is difficult to decide so I asked the waiter about the steaks. He suggested Angus beef for me, my in law went for grilled meat on a spear and my girl chose pizza. The steak I got was perfect in all ways and it was surely medium. The chips was good, baked potato amazing and the bernaise sauce was out of this world. The size of the steak was more than i could eat. My in law really enjoyed her grilled meat saying it was the beat she has had and that the sauce was brilliant. My daughter got a large pizza but did not eat it all so the staff asked if I wanted it packed as take away. Impressive service! The desert menu was also extensive and looked good. The desert tasted really good and my daughter even got a small toy.
I can only say thanks for this experience and I recommend...
Read moreRestaurante Boy, located in Playa de Muro, is a classic tourist trap that left me underwhelmed. Upon arrival, we were immediately forced a pan ajo, €1 per person for a roll of bread, which felt like an unnecessary and forced expense. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to expectations either. While there was a substantial amount of meat on offer, the quality and flavor were mediocre at best, lacking that special touch one would hope for in a meat restaurant.
One aspect that particularly disappointed me was the service, which leaned towards aggressive selling. The staff seemed more focused on pushing additional items rather than genuinely attending to the customers’ needs. This kind of approach can be off-putting and detracts from the overall dining experience.
Overall, I found Restaurante Boy to be a lackluster choice for meat enthusiasts seeking an exceptional culinary experience. If you’re looking for a memorable meal in Playa de Muro, I would suggest exploring other options that offer better quality,...
