Dolores El Chispa — Restaurant in Nerja

While the food at Bar Dolores El Chispa is of great quality the service is badly managed.

The main problem seems to be not enough staff to cover the amount of people in the bar, and a disorganised approach to service which means that we sat at the bar for two hours and only managed to order three drinks, and only had two tapas each.

The third tapas that should have come with our third drinks didn't get offered, three times I tried to ask the staff for something, but it just didn't happen. We got fed up of waiting, finished our drinks and went a few feet up the road to the much better, and much more organised, Bar La Puntilla.

The staff, when they had time to serve were very pleasant, but they were simply rushed off their feet.

It was a shame as it spoilt a good food experience and my partner won't go back based on that poor service, so I guess...

An astounding place, really a hidden gem in Nerja. Services here are fast and the staff are friendly. Food is amazing and for a very low price. Not to mention the amazing fact, that you get a free tapas with each drink! I haven't seen this since leaving Granada.

The food was so good and so worth it for the price, that I came back multiple times. The tapas offered also varies so you don't have to worry getting the same things each time you come.

The variety of dishes they offer, the freshness of the food and the whole atmosphere in this place is really one to remember. Over here, one really gets the real experience of dining in a traditional tapas bar, and not some tapas bar set up just for tourists.

If you ever come to Nerja, do yourselves a huge favour and stop...

A gorgeous feast of a Gluten Free dinner at Dolores El Chispa in Nerja. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere made for a memorable dining experience in a bar packed with locals and gorgeous looking fresh local fish.

The staff are very welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel at home, and our dietary requirements were easily catered for.

9/10 the food portions were rather large but the food was absolutely fantastic. The "small" fillet chicken was lovely and brilliantly seasoned with herbs and garlic. The mixed salad had tuna and beetroot along with sweetcorn and other delicious salad flavours. The grilled vegetables was a lovely mix of tomatoes, onion, aubergine and courgette. Would definitely return and recommend to anyone looking for a local hidden gem...
