Having given the new restaurant at Villa Costa "Number 7" several chances now, based on the recommendations of others and being disappointed each and every time, we have now decided we will never be back.
The food here is very over priced for the standard of food, whilst we do not mind paying for excellent food the food here is underwhelming and disappointing for the price point.
I liken the price point somewhat to Browns for evening meals. an example being. 1 starter, 2 mains, 1 desert, to shorts with a mixer and table size bottle of water 90 Euros!!!!! even the table water was just shy of 5 euros. Sadly on this visit the food was a long way from being perfect. At least at Browns I think the meal would have been cheaper, and absolutely perfect. The service was below standard and we left feeling scammed, over charged and disappointed.
Another visit we had 2 Irish breakfast that looked surprising and tasted surprisingly exactly like an English breakfast. no potato cakes, no soda bread and no white pudding. 3 coffees and a table water the bill came to just shy of 30 euro. the breakfast wasn't perfectly cooked, again we left feeling scammed and disappointed. Again the service was a little shoddy this time too. we were the only two customers and the food took a long time to arrive, I never got the extra toast, the fresh orange or the coke original I asked for twice!
Another visit we had an eggs Benedict each. that 2 poached eggs, two bacon, one muffin and some hollandaise sauce. 10 euros each! with the drinks we had came to just over 30 euros. Aga n the food was far from perfect! so disappointing. Wasn't even hollandaise sauce! just melted buttery type sauce. it was disgusting, the eggs were rock hard, solid. Once again we felt totally scammed and decided we will never be back.
My advice is if you are going to charge Browns prices, your food and service has to be at least as good if not better than Browns. We will pay the money anywhere and keep on returning if the food is excellent and the service is excellent. At the moment there is nothing good about the standard of food or service, no more than places charging half to two thirds of the prices here. personally I would avoid until they realise they are not browns and come back down to earth charging prices online with the standard of food they are...

Update below with regards to a Sunday Lunch dinner we had recently which was not so good, shame, see below at the bottom **
Firstly a review I did for a meal we had some months ago.....Super Restaurant serving very well prepared and delicious meals. Our food arrived to our table fairly quickly and every coarse was tasty, delicious and nicely arranged on our plates. We were very impressed with everything about this restaurant and highly recommend that you should visit. The decor is beautiful and the staff were very polite and served us with care and attention. The background music was beautiful and not too loud as you can get in other establishments. We felt very well cared for and relaxed. Five stars. Well done to all, you've done a Fantastic Job. We will be back soon.
**Sunday Lunch was very disappointing because there was a complete lack of vegetables on our plates. We only got 3 very small potatoes, one piece of carrot, a couple of undercooked small pieces of parsnip, one small piece of broccoli, some mash, a Yorkshire pudding and a few small pieces of onion. The gravy was too runny. The quantity of meat given was ok. The apple sauce for the pork was very runny too. The desserts were also very small portions. My cheesecake was the size of my thumb. The price for our two courses was very keen but a roast dinner is a roast dinner and that keen price should not mean that the owners skimp on the amount of veg you get. The keen price attracts the customers I know but I'd rather pay a couple of Euros more for a full plate of veg. At the end of our main course the waitress picked up our four plates and piled them up on the table infront of my wife. A big no no. Pick up the empty plates, one in your hand and another couple balanced on your bent arm and take them away like a professional waitress would do then come back for any other plates etc. Never pile up plates infront of a customer. Overall not good for this lovely restaurant. A bit of a let down. We will return for evening meals but never again for Sunday Lunch. It's a...
Read moreOur experience was incredible!
The restaurant my husband, teenager and baby originally planned to go to was sadly full, with it already being 21:30 and us still having no food in our stomachs, the “owner” of Number 7 saw us and recommended us to his restaurant! He shared that the restaurant was a type of family, with for example the employees, even though they aren’t actually family! With him seeing us as a family that had no place to eat, he immediately started taking action, as he personally brought us to his restaurant, as we had no car and would have to wait a long time on our taxi! By the time we got to order our food, it was already 21:50, with the kitchen closing at 22:00. But, for them it didn’t matter! The employees found it better to have everyone fed in the restaurant, then to send hungry people away! The employees were very nice, they didn’t rush us at all with choosing our food, which was delicious and actually awaked our senses through colours, textures, smells and flavours, just as what was promised! When we paid and were about to leave, one of the employees got a taxi for us, so that we could arrive home safely! I can honestly say that all the employees are so friendly, and actually care about their customers, as if we are one of their close friends! The owner is gentleman himself as well! And now I can finally say that I know the owner!
Thank you so much for this incredible experience on our final to last day of our vacation...
