La Sirena — Restaurant in Pájara

"Never judge a book by its cover". I was skeptical at first thinking it was just a touristic restaurant, and OMG, I'm glad I was wrong.

Although they cater for tourists by having a lot of variety in their menu, they win the challenge to deliver quality fresh food and cook with bursting flavours. I had the Sole Meunière which was very generous in size and very tasty. My partner ordered the specialty of the day, lamb shoulder slow cooked, and this was as well very generous and tasty!

Very well done to the kitchen and to the staff who was very kind and caring.

Also, I found out they do the strongest Piña Colada on the island! Manage to get me and my partner tipsy with a shared drink!

Highly recommend La Sirena. We will come back...

Nach 11 Jahren Fuerte habe ich erstmals eine Lokalität direkt an diesem Platz unterhalb des Palm Gardens ausgewählt.

Enttäuscht vom Essen und dem tollen Service wurde ich nicht. In Morro gab es kein Lokal, das Carne De Cabra angeboten hat, also sind wir nach Jandia gelaufen, ich wollt schon immer mal an dieser "Schlemmermeile" in Jandia essen und dann auch richtig, da wo alle Touristen lang latschen und der China-/Indermann nebenan seinen Kram iregdnwann Abends wegräumt.

Vorab nachgefragt, ob es Ziegenfleisch gibt - ja gibt es und bestellt. Für meine Frau sollte es frischer Fisch sein vom Grill. Sie durfte sich "ihren" Fisch an der Auslage mit Beratung des sehr netten Servicemitarbeiters aussuchen.

Der Service war gut, von der Bestellannahme, Getränke und Essen bringen und man war aufmerksam zum Kunden.

Der Fischteller mit Salatbeilage und selbstgeschnitzten (?) Pommes kam recht zügig. Meine Frau war komplett zufrieden was den Geschmack und die Zubereitung ihres Fischtellers betraf. Auch das geschmorte Ziegenfleisch war schnell am Tisch. Das Fleisch wurde in ausreichend Soße und als Beilage mit Salzkartoffeln gebracht. Sehr gut zubereitet und auch vom Geschmack sehr gut gemacht. Geschmack ist natürlich immer subjektiv. Beim nächsten Besuch hier - oder auch in anderen Lokalitäten - würde ich immer fragen, was es als Beilage gibt! Beim La Sirena hätte ich auf die Kartoffeln verzichtet und um Brot gebeten, damit man etwas mehr von der leckeren Soße hat.

Wer damit leben kann das links Autos auf der Straße vorbeirauschen, rechts die Touris beim Essen auf den Teller schauen und beim Cortado nebenan der Chinakram wegen Geschäftschluß lautstark weggeräumt wird, wird im La Sirena nicht enttäuscht werden. Nicht vom Preis, Service und Geschmack! Und wen das Flair draussen drumherum stört, setzt sich halt in den...

The service here was excellent, the good also really good. It's authentic Canarian fare, cooked very well and the menu has a fantastic choice. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the hot starters were limited, some of the mains come with Canarian potatoes and that's one of the starters. They're excellent. It just meant we had to change orders as we couldn't see on the menu that the main course has the same accompaniments. Lovely meal though, thanks so much. My trouser top buttons are grateful I've got home and...
