Almare — Restaurant in Palma

Great location, nice staff although not properly trained and VERY unattentive. Even the owner was more interesred in schmoozing larger tables..After waiting a long time to place our order and trying to attract attention from numerous passing waiting staff we nearly gave up on food. We had to send two plates back...one being the bread because it was totally burnt, even the waiter was embarrassed. Bottle of water arrived warm, had to ask for ice. No salt, pepper, oil or vinegar on the table and when we asked for some a huge unopened 1litre bottle was brought to the table along with an empty pepper mill and a salt mill that was solidified a dirty half used bottle of vinegar with sticky finger marks all over....I think this had come straight from the kitchen and the olive oil from the kitchen store room. I am a chef so can read between the lines... The mixed fish platter was very well cooked and fresh but the salad was tired and it came with 3 tiny cubes of potatoes, 2 cherry tomatoes Oh and I had to ask for a serviette as there was only one on the table. We also had to light our own candle to set the ambiance on the table as the waiting staff had not bothered. I have lived here for 12yrs and have been to this restaurant periodically, for me it started as a great find but now every time I return it gets worse. My guest was Italian and was not...

This restaurant doesn’t provide a good service. We ordered 10 minutes after arriving (which is okay) but our drinks took almost 15 minutes to get served. We also ordered a starter and main dishes, within an hour nothing had arrived. I went to tell our waitress that we are going elsewhere since even our starter (bread with aioli and olives) was not served but she started getting pissed (without being mean but just annoyed) and argued that the food was ordered 30 minutes ago (which was not true). I was pretty sad about her reaction and still paid for the drinks (she gave us a 15% discount on them after I negociated). I would not recommend this restaurant because of their bad service but the food might be great we never...

This is my happy land in Palma!!! Best restaurant among all Palma restaurants! Staffs are super nice, especially Marco!! They make sure everyone feels like home whenever having food in this restaurant! Service is impeccable, I feel very comfortable to be here. The food is great! Their bruschetta that comes with the bread, YOU WILL LOVE THEM! It is very basic, but ingredients are so fresh that I couldn’t stop... I came every night when I was in palma (4 nights) Recommend Mussels, Seafood risotto and Panna Cotta (very milky creamy, I love it) I have seen others ordering Seafood Almare as well!
