The Manchester Pub — Restaurant in Palma

I was looking forward to going to this pub after seeing all of the good reviews and being from Manchester, but to say I was disappointed is an understatement. The only thing Manchester about the pub is the interior. I was expecting a warm and friendly atmosphere, instead we were greeted with the barmaid/owner that had a face like thunder she couldn’t have looked less interested in taking our money or trying to make conversation if she tried. We had one drink and then left. After our first experience not being the best we thought we would give it a go and try for the 2nd time in hope that this time we would have got the Manchester atmosphere that we had hoped for. The 2nd night was pretty much the same we got our drinks with the same frosty reception as we had on the previous night and sat outside. We sat for around an hour just having a chat (me and my wife) then the barmaid/owner started stacking chairs and tables, once this was done she went inside and closed the shutters with people still in the bar. I found this very ignorant and got the impression that it’s if your face fits you will be alright. All in all a waste of time and money going here and I won’t bother again. The lady with the glasses behind the bar is a racist.

Me and my friends (all brown) came to the pub to watch the Arsenal vs Man City game. We sit on the stool and within 1 minute she comes over saying “drinks are at the bar”. I told her yeah me and my friends are coming over to buy drinks. We literally just sat down…

We ALL buy drinks then at half time she comes over again saying “drinks are at the bar”. She doesn’t go to anyone else to say it but only the 4 brown guys… to our left and right there where groups that brought drinks at the start of the game just like us but she didn’t approach them at half time to buy drinks again. Furthermore there is no rule that says you have to buy multiple rounds off drinks to stay and watch the match. We’re paying customers that brought 1 round to enjoy the match (We had a flight at 9:30pm straight after the match so we didn’t want to drink heavy).

I’ve been in can pastilla 3 days and it was the first time I’d seen the pub open/with customers so decided to try it and I have to say I was sorely disappointed with the service seriously gives a bad name to English people living in a foreign country. I had just sat down with my drink and a group of students came, 2 lads turned up first and went and got drinks then 3 girls turned up sat down with their bags and started discussing what they wanted to drink and If the place did pitchers of cocktails a lady came out and started having a go at them about them sitting without a drink it’s not clear if she was staff or maybe a lady owner but these girls then stood up and left resulting in the pub loosing at least 3 sales now if I hadn’t of just been charged nearly €6 for the weakest vodka and coke in my life I’d of not stayed after witnessing that absolutely appalling behaviour no wonder the place was empty...
