CERVECERIA EL ALBERO — Restaurant in Pollença

We visited this cerveceria for lunch today, this being the first time we had tried it. We were immediately struck by the genuine friendliness of the welcome. Most unusually the proprietor was happy to allow us to use our limited Spanish throughout - whilst this may seem an inconvenience to many, who probably have very good English, it may not always be recognised how respectful it is to allow visitors to try to use their limited grasp of the language. We were grateful for this and it made the welcome even warmer.

The food was good, wholesome fare. Well prepared and served with some imagination. My wife had a portion of succulent turbot, perfectly prepared and accompanied by chips and salad, whilst I had a very tasty portion of pigs cheeks in a spicy vegetable laden sauce, loaded with garlic and served over chips. Both dishes can be highly recommended.

We had a lovely meal this evening, we can recommend the chicken breast with peppercorn sauce, the chicken was extremely succulent, and it was a good sized portion accompanied by crispy chips and charred padron-style peppers of an excellent flavour. We also recommend the pork cheek. It is very reasonably priced. The white wine by the glass was also very nice. FATAL!!! Al llegar nos atendió una chica y bien, no nos dijo que cerraba la cocina ni nada que se le pareciese, pedimos entre otras cosas una ensalada de la casa y ynas gambas al ajillo las gambas aún estando ricas llevaban salsa americana parece ser y no eran muy al ajillo, pero el problema estuvo con la ensalada ya que traía unas hojas muy pasadas por no decir más y se le comenta a otra camarera enseñándolas con mucha discrecion,hasta ahí todo normal....la camarera retira el plato diciendo que es fresca....que "el frutero la trajo hoy" retira el plato y fin no trae ni otro servicio ni nada como si no fuésemos a comer el resto se lo pedimos y contesta de muy malos modos sin motivo y nos dice que que genio os hicimos el favor de serviros a última hora y aun tenéis más que decir, palabras textuales y entró al local diciendo es mala, mala , mala....y que si no queríamos que no pagásemos insinuando que queríamos comer gratis....Pagamos y nos fuimosjamas tuve una situación parecida comimos mal pagamos bien y nos ridiculizaron e...
