As we've just returned from an amazing trip to Barcelona and Mallorca, one of the first things I felt important to follow up on was our dinner at C'an Pescador. It was hands-down our favorite restaurant of the entire trip, which was filled with many amazing culinary experiences. If you're looking for a well-priced, beautiful location for dinner while in Port de Pollenca, then you must give this spot a try! We walked by many restaurants along the malecon hugging the bay, and after reading this menu as well as taking in the atmosphere in seating, we were so pleased with our decision. My husband and I were quite hungry after spending our day at the pool/beach in San Vicente, where we were staying. We hadn't eaten since our breakfast buffet, so we ordered a fair amount of food, that in hindsight was possibly excessive, but it was so good that we ate every last bite. Our order included the following: Pan con tomate, which was on wheat bread and although at first it seemed to be "different" than the other versions we had tried thus far, we were pleasantly surprised with how tasty it was. This also came with olives included, which we appreciated the salty, complimentary inclusion. Croquettes. These were filled with both a creamy chicken mixture as well as a squid-based sauce and clams. We gobbled both up and enjoyed the mixture. Sangria (red), which became a staple of our diet and we ordered at every single dinner. This was one of our favorites. The paella (pictured) was chosen because we both were in the mood for octopus that evening, and we were quite pleased they offered this version. The rice was perfectly cooked, more orange in color and lighter than we were used to in Barcelona. For us, it created the right balance of sauce on the paella. The star of the dish was the octopus, which with the dill and combination of spices, stood out as our clear favorite seafood for the best paella of the trip. We saved no room for dessert, but with our return to Port de Pollenca the next evening for dinner, we did make sure to get gelato from their ice cream counter. They offer a variety of refreshing and delicious flavors.
Thank you, especially to Tony and Eduardo, the friendly waitstaff who helped provide a QR code and reminder of the details of our meal. I was looking forward to writing such a glowing review, reflective of our memorable evening spent there. We hope to return one day and wish you...
Read moreThis was the worst dining experience of my life. We booked a table for 15 family members to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. We ordered a variety of starters, including prawns which came in boiling hot oil. The waitress brought the prawns to the table with a lid on which had created a vacuum. She tried with one hand to remove the lid and I said 'please be careful about the oil' several times as it was an accident waiting to happen. She ignored my warnings and ended up dropping the boiling hot oil from a height all over me, my Dad and three other members of our family. My Dad had hot oil all over his face and in his eye, which was red raw and required ice throughout the meal. His vision is still blurry and our clothes absolutely ruined. The restaurant staff offered a 10% discount and when we said this was not nearly sufficient and would not even cover one item of destroyed clothing, they called the police. The police were kind and fair thankfully and could see how awfully we had been treated. We are decent, fair people and ended up with my mother and children terrified and crying. The restaurant staff were extremely rude throughout this horrendous ordeal and the waitress lied and said it was our fault because we drink too much (we had a couple of sips of wine when our starters arrived). My parents are still in shock and shaken from the experience and their anniversary completely ruined. There are many lovely restaurants along the promenade, but please never ever eat...
Read moreUnfortunately we had a terrible experience here. The food was nice but the staff are appalling. We were seated at a table and given menus. Ten minutes later we were asked if we’d like to order drinks and when we declined (flying visit before heading back to the beach) the waitress stormed off. A couple were then seated after us and their food order was taken long before ours. We had to call someone over to order, she then redirected us to the original Lady who was rude to us. She asked if we would like bread to which we said no and she grabbed the menus off us and walked away without saying anything. Once we received our food we asked for cheese for my sons spaghetti and watching the waitress bring out bread and standing chatting to other staff we again had to go up and ask for the cheese. Same story with the bill, we asked for the bill and waited 15 minutes before my partner got up and asked the same person if we could please just get the bill to leave. The staff are outrageously rude and ignorant. We felt completely forgotten about and for the price you pay for a lunch this is just unacceptable. Will not be returning & will make sure to tell all to steer clear from this place. Staff definitely do not do the...
