It was very difficult to book a table in September (no bookings via website or telephone and was told we had to come in to book which we did only to be sent away and told they were too busy to take a booking during service) this perhaps could have been a warning however we chose to think instead it was worth the effort and when we finally did manage to book a table by visiting at lunchtime to book for the evening were looking forward to a good meal.
The service was really lacking and despite listing allergens in the front of the menu the waitress couldn’t say which dishes has allergens in and wouldn’t do a vegetarian paella to be on the safe side, fair enough if they pre make dishes although they give the impression that everything is freshly made although did admit the chips were frozen oven chips from a packet when we asked if they contained gluten, which they did incidentally.
We ordered 2 grilled fish dishes (one sea bass and one salmon) and two steak and bacon kebabs. The meat dishes faired better than the fish of which both were terribly filleted and were full of bones, the Skelton had been hacked apart with little skill! The vegetables were a strange accompaniment also, brusssel sprouts, raw onion, courgette and over boiled mushy potatoes.
The waitress didn’t ask if everything was OK when plates were returned with half the fish.
We didn’t stay for dessert but there is is lovely fresh ice cream shop around the corner I would highly recommend - they even have vegan options!
It’s also worth noting that whilst the setting has a side sea view the road itself has traffic on lorries making deliveries at 8pm with the engine running and exhaust fumes whilst...
ENGLISH On October 12th, I visited the Na Ruixa Restaurant and had a particularly unpleasant experience. After joining some friends who had already dined at a terrace table, two of them left, and my friend and I took the vacant seats.
When we requested the menu, it was denied based on an unfamiliar "rule" stating that the number of people at a table should not change. I questioned the logic of this rule, and the waiter replied that the father, the owner of the restaurant, wanted it that way.
Subsequent interactions with the staff and the owner were not only confusing but deeply unprofessional. Instead of engaging in a constructive conversation, we received inappropriate comments. When I mentioned my intention to write a review about this experience, the response was not only evasive but also accompanied by unsuitable remarks. The owner's daughter later explained that guests must register to be assigned a table, a detail we were unaware of as spontaneous diners.
What struck me most, however, was the aggressive behavior of the owner, who confronted me loudly and rudely. Among the words he used were "hijo de la gran ....." (son of a ...).
My verdict: The communication in this family-run restaurant is severely lacking. At a holiday location where the atmosphere should be relaxed, I felt like an unwelcome guest. It's baffling that a guest, forced to leave the restaurant hungry and thirsty, is treated in such a manner. The establishment feels more like a disorganized beach shack than a professional dining venue.
My friends and I will certainly not return, and I would advise anyone to think twice before subjecting themselves to the whims of this...
Read moreWe've been here many times before in previous years and have always loved it. We went again recently and everything was really great, but the filet steak which possibly the worst steak I have ever eaten (felt old, no flavor, super fatty and chewy, and a bit slimy - so much so that we could only eat maybe two bites. The steak took quite a while to come, and we had two small kids who were already over tired, so we didn't have time for them to make us another one, and it was slightly frustrating that they still charged us half - felt like they just thought we were being cheap and didn't seem too happy about us returning the food. The waiters also felt a little bit run off their feet - take that how you will, but given the restaurant pitches on the higher end - the service didn't seem to match that expecation. Sit inside in the evening as you'll get eaten alive outside. Everything else was brilliant, so the above was a real shame as we don't feel like we can...
