What a disappointment, I just don't get what fuss was about at all...while walking through peurto de la Cruz and loro parque (which is amazing breath taking experience) all we seen, everywhere were signs for this restaurant. After visiting the loro, I said my husband let's go try this place out as we are huge steak lovers. Quick scan menu and pricing was our first mistake, on hungry belly not paying attention to what ridiculous prices they charge for tiny pieces of steak. Per g not per kg, I know, I know how silly that was of us. (haha our own fault)
The lay out of the restaurant is fabulous, the presentation of meats is beautiful, the view is stunning and the staff were pleasant and welcoming and helpful, this was only points I'd give 2 stars for.
I just don't understand it myself to be honest, how on earth it justifies the prices even regardless of our mistake reading menu on door. Its definitely not worth the money at all. The chips were half cooked, miserable amount of them at that, the presentation of steak plated up was poor. We were advised to share a steak, as told too big eat for one person, ha we'd so eaten one each if we known what it look like. My husband likes medium rare and I like well done, so I quizzed how would we share, we were told be giving a hot plate to cook my meat how I like it. OK why not we give it a go.
The t bone steak was tiny when cooked, to split it we got 4 skinny strips steak each, I had to stand over hot plate and cook my own bit steak way I liked it. My chips then were cold, no side salad or sauces or anything special about it being plated up. There was no bread baskets left, not asked if it was ok, if we had any issues or if our little girl was enjoying her food. Definitely had better in our local at home serves divine giant t bone steak meal for 2 with all trimmings starting from 50e or less total.
Then the bill came, 116e ish, it cost us, for 1 t bone steak (charged 88e for 1kg tiny miserable size steak half was fat raging didn't take photos but was in shock) 2 miserable tiny uncooked chips, chicken nuggets chips apple juice for a 2 year old and 2 beers. No sides, no starters that all we had, well I nearly died shock at total. I wouldn't recommend it not just over price, but quality and quantity matter most. Absolutely ridiculous, we were in shock. Even for couple days after the shock at what we paid made us annoyed. We were glad we didn't order 2 steaks in the end, it been very expensive early dinner for little food. Maybe we are missing something but definitely expected a lot more and had I'd known prices I wouldn't be standing middle restaurant cooking my own food on hot plate get what I'd asked for. (specially since I seen other servers stand at other tables and prepare and serve their food, I'd hate think what their bill was)

Read moreI would give 2.5/5 stars if this was an option as this is an extremely average place. As its not I will give 3 as 2 is a little harsh. Service was slow throughout the night. People who came in after us where served/ had their orders taken before us. People who had their orders taken after us, got their food before us! Every other table got an aperitif before their main (even customers that did not order a starter) yet we didn't get one, when I questioned a member of staff about this they said oops and ran off, we assumed to get us one, apparently not. Our table was basically ignored after that until they came to clear out plates away. The steaks where good but not worth the money we paid, the chips where nice but the grilled peppers ans onions really didn't need to be there. For a Michellen recommended place they could come up with much better accompaniments then that. At the start of the meal we asked for 1 portion of bread between us, they brought a large basket and charged us for bread each, even though we did not ask for this. Every slice of our bread was a end piece, yet other tables where getting bread that was nice soft centre slices. Overall we where extremely disappointed in this place. This is our second visit to the restaurant and we will not be returning again. We holiday in Teneriffe often and so do all our family. We always stops in Peurto De La Cruz as our family own a couple of properties here, and we will advise all our friends and family not to bother dining here, to be Frank there are far better steak places for half the cost of Brunelli's. Our first visit in June last year did not go well either, they got the cooking of our steaks the wrong way round. My dad and partner shared a large steak that cost around €70 asked for it medium and got it blue. I had fillet (serlion as they call it) and asked for it blue and got it medium. These are simple mistakes that should not be happening as a result we had to wait longer for our food. They brought my dad and partner a hot rock so they could cook their steak a bit more at the table, by the time they finally brought my steak back out they had practically finished their meals so didn't really get to eat together. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and decided to give them a second chance and to be honest really wish we hadn't. Save your money and eat else where. The steaks will be no better quality and will be half the cost. We spent €151 that could have been spent...
Read moreBrunelli’s is such a good restaurant! As Americans in the Canary Islands, we’re certainly a rare sight. When we first saw the signs for Brunelli’s while at Loro Parque (which we also highly recommend), we were intrigued to say the least. The advertisements proclaimed it as an American style steakhouse. Not quite sure what to think, we decided to give it a shot- and we were not disappointed! Honestly, the first question we had as simply- where do they source the meat?? After all, the Canary Islands aren’t known for their beef industry. That question was answered soon after walking in. There is a large, glass walled, walk in cooler near the entry. All of the available cuts are displayed, including country of origin. They had beef from Nebraska and Argentina, lamb from New Zealand, and more. It looks like they import large primal and sub-primal cuts and then do the aging and final cuts in house. How did they do? Absolutely amazing. I had a well marbled, perfectly seasoned rib eye, and my bride enjoyed a delightfully tender sirloin. If we were in the US, both would undoubtedly be USDA Prime. They were melt in your mouth good. Besides the steak, the bread selection was wonderful, and the potatoes were very good. We even discovered our new favorite Canarian wine as we split a bottle. Finishing out with desert, I had a cheesecake that was melt in your mouth creamy, with a perfectly blended strawberry sauce and flavorful crust. The cost was significantly lower than you would expect at a Micheline star restaurant. Our complete meal (appetizer, a bottle of wine, steaks, sides and deserts was under 110€. And it was worth every cent. For dinner, Brunelli’s is another one of our “musts” for the Canary Islands. I will give one word of caution about every steakhouse in Spain- order your steak slightly more done than you would in the US, and it will...
