I chose to ignore the bad reviews that had previously been written for this hotel and I'm so glad I did. So let's get a couple of small niggles out of the way. 1) We (single mum and two kids well 21 and 10😂) arrived here just after the evening meal had finished on 17/08/25, unfortunately we were not offered anything(some bread and cheese would have done) 2) The hotel is spotlessly clean and they seem to be cleaning all of the time - but we did have a couple of mornings where we was knocked on at least 4 times for cleaning 😂, can't complain though. 3) Beer was €5 a pop, cocktails €6.50, sounds cheap, but a bar down the road was a lot cheaper, but they don't mind you having your own stuff by the pool so nip to the shop and beer is 0.60 cents a can. 4) Could do with some background music by the pool but that is my personal choice. 5) On one day a couples kid seemed to be drowning and the lifeguard just sat on looking until the parents jumped up and saved her and then he still didn't check if she was ok, having said this the other life guards are great especially Jenni who was great with my daughter when she hurt her toe, she is strict but doesn't spoil the fun and even joins in so big shout out to Jenni. So now the positives. Yes the pool is small and no large blow ups or lilos allowed which given its size is a good thing, gardens are well tended too. The pool is fine though and big enough for you to cool off in. Always somewhere to sit by the pool as well so no issues with beds. There is entertainment in the evening but nothing much for kids nor is there a kids club but it's just not "one" of those kinds of complex hotels. Again people have reviewed moaning about noise and the food. We have not had an issue with noise (floor 6 at the front side of the hotel and still had a view of the pool and ocean) pics attached. We have not found an issue with the food at all, there is a large buffet at breakfast and teatime with lots of freshly cooked items at the grill, there is definitely something for everyone. The hotel is positioned away from the noisy nightlife but also close to the beach which we didn't visit as we not into black sand or rocky shores. Walk for 10 mins and you will find the main square with lots of shops bars and restaurants, come see for yourself and make your own minds up. There is a hairdryer in the room along with Aircon, shampoo and shower gel but no fridge or kettles, safe is extra, daily cleaning and lots of storage space, but definitely bring an extension lead for all your electricals as not really any spare plugs. I have only rates as a 4 and hey nothings perfect, would I return? For what we paid and the free child's place absolutely it was a bargain.

AVOID BIG TIME!!! NO-WAY IS THIS 4 STARS MORE LIKE 2 ROOM Photo's show there is one plug for the TV and that's all and one in the bathroom had to buy extention lead to accommodate charging my phone, smartwatch, headphones and other gadgets absolutely ridiculous 🙄, Staff very unhelpful, unfriendly and useless, even cleaning left a lot to be desired holes in blackout curtain, curtains bedding and towels. No Fridge or Kettle when l asked got laughed at! FOOD they only offer UK guests B&B or Half board, but on arrival found any other Country could have all-inclusive, substandard, tasteless, repetative and generally inedible, breakfast best option but again bland and repetative where you have coffee, tea etc. I am half board and you have to pay way over the top if you want a drink even water! Tiny little bottle 2 euros!!!! Bathroom no water pressure, grab rail falling off wall which leaves rust and black matter everywhere! I went to reception about this just got ignored l am disabled and its been very hard to have a bath or shower! The place you eat is like a dungeon its in the basement and you can't get wifi or data. BALCONY no security someone could get in your room very easily as photo shows, 1 chair provided on Balcony very loud as single glazing. POOL lovely pool, lifeguards useless hardly ever there and dangerously left unattended with small children also left unattended by parents (spanish) had to wait 15 minutes to get a towel, all staff have an attitude problem, make it clear they hate the English. Only positive thing l can say is the WiFi and the location.

I visited your hotel Sol Puerto de la Cruz for a weeks stay in June 9th, 2025. As a first-time solo female traveller ( I live in North Wales, UK), I had chosen a hotel that was accessible to amenities with a beach nearby as I did not want to be isolated and not be able to go out on my own and your hotel had a good location.||I booked through On The Beach and the whole experience was effortless from the booking to the flights and transfers via the apps.||The transfer was drop off outside the hotel and so was the pickup. The police station is directly opposite the hotel.||On arrival I asked the young lady behind reception where I could walk, and she drew on a map she gave me. The room was clean, fresh and a lovely view. I knew there was no kettle in the room, so I had taken my own. The housekeeping was first class both in my room and in the hotel. There are two lifts as well as the stairs.|| As I was half board I wanted to get water. I went for a walk on my first evening to get a feel for the area. If you go to the back of the hotel it takes you to the beach and under the hotel there was little shop, I bought a 5-litre bottle of water for 1.45-euro, bargain. Going the other way takes you to shops, some of which are very boutique. There is a lovely bay and museum, ice cream shops, café restaurants, MacDonalds and bigger hotels with entertainment outside. There are many places to sit, and the views of the sea are lovely. It is on a slight hill but don’t let that put you off and although there are many steps there are also sloped areas, everywhere is accessible. There are houses in between the shops and over my time walking around I realised there were many locals using the cafes. There is a supermarket five-minute walk from the hotel ( the junction directly opposite and the straight up )and there is one in the town. I went for a walk every evening and not once did I feel vulnerable. There were people everywhere and although it was busy there was relaxed vibe to the place. Every where was clean and no litter. Many people had dogs (locals coming out in the cool evening) with them and not once did I see any dog faeces. With the temperature being hot there was no smell at all, I saw people carrying bottles and they poured water over the pee puddle. The prices in cafe shops are similar to Britain prices some cheaper.||The hotel is not big which I liked. There was always a sun bed, and the sun was by the pool from 9am until 8 pm, amazing. The food was lovely and always varied. I went as Half Board and for me this suited really well. I had breakfast and took snack for my nibbles throughout the day and then had my evening meal. The beach has black volcanic sand and does get hot but lovely to sunbath on. The beach was clean and not crowded, again I felt safe. There are toilets and a restaurant by the beach, which was great, again the prices the same as I would be in Britian.||Speaking as a solo visitor I cannot express how much this holiday catered for all my needs. Everyone was pleasant and helpful and not over familiar which again as a solo traveller made me feel comfortable. The hotel from my observations did not host as my British people as other nationalities but again this did not affect me. I did not see a lot of entertainment throughout the day or night only someone singing and playing an organ in the evening but there were always people in the reception area and some dancing. Again, this didn’t affect me.||I am not able to say how a family or a couple would find this hotel but for solo travellers I cannot recommend it enough.||I had a wonderful time, and I would definetly go to this hotel again.||The weather was lovely and hot though I might add it can be clouldy but the temperature was still hot and I sat outside everyday all day from early morning to late afternoon.|I have attached photos but my phone is not the best and does not do any justice...
