A hidden gem in Soller! We walked through the main (touristy) main streets of Soller, by the Cathedral. At the time we arrived (around 2pm) a lot of shops and restaurants were already closed or not re-opening until 4pm. The stores were decent but the people that worked in the stores did not seem very interested in tourists. Literally none said "hola" when we entered. So after a while of looking around, we decided we would start walking toward the bus stop to head back to Palma. Right next to the station we encountered Ca'n Boquesta. The restaurant was open and we sat in the back patio so we could soak in some Spainish sun as we ate. What we got was light years ahead of what we were expecting, given our previous experience with hospitality in Soller. Victor was a knowledgeable and helpful waiter. He explained each option on the menu. We got a choice of 3 different salads, 3 mains, and 3 desserts to make our 3 course lunch. The cost was extremely affordable as well. Each course was thoughtfully prepared and meticulously presented. The flavors of the food can only be experienced. Words would not do it justice. I almost felt as though we were in a Michellin star restaurant. Chef and owner Kiko Martorell has done an amazing job. It was the highlight of our visit. If you find yourself in Soller, GO HERE! P.S. the bus ride back (take the longer one that goes along the coast) was even better than the train ride to Soller - and cheaper. Be sure to sit on the right side (when facing the front of the bus) for the best views.

I don’t know which Michelin auditor visited this place, but they must have been either very hungry or didn’t try the lunch menu, because this was a below-average meal compared to any other Spanish restaurant. Firstly, the tuna pâté as a starter was bland, completely lacking in taste and missing any crunchy or contrasting element. The baby squid was quite good—nothing special—but what was truly disappointing was the veal dish. It felt like a random mix of leftover veggies and poorly seasoned meat. Honestly, something I’d expect to get at a casual family BBQ, not at a Bib Gourmand restaurant. Even though we were almost the only table in the restaurant (which in itself felt odd for a Michelin-recognized place), it took the staff 17 minutes to clear our plates. The food presentation didn’t help either—it was more like: “Here’s some squid…” Overall, I don’t recommend this restaurant and I truly don’t understand how it made it into the Michelin Guide.
