Went here with a family of 5.
The decoration of the restaurant is aesthetically appealing and it’s located in a cute location but that’s about it.
The appetizer was maybe 13 cracked up soup crackers and a small serving bowl of tapenade. The food was mediocre at best. It tasted like it had been warmed up. We got served within 10 minutes and so did everyone else - a bit weird for a “high dining experience” restaurant. It was really expensive for what it was - probably could have got same quality from the frozen food section at a grocery store.
The only thing “Mafia” & criminal about this restaurant is them warming up cold pasta from the frozen meal section, overcharging you for location instead of quality and incredibly rude staff.
The servers don’t seem to know what they’re doing and the front of house staff were incredibly rule to multiple people in front of us. Once we approached them, they made it seem like we were asking them to do a chore when we asked if there were any open tables (Kind of random to act that way when someone is asking to eat at your restaurant??)
Our waitress was incredibly rude and didn’t try to help us. We attempted to speak Spanish and instead got cut eye. The wind started to pick up while we were waiting for the food, we asked if we could move inside and were told no, and then pointed out by the staff and laughed at.
Overall - not impressed and WOULD NOT recommend to anyone. There are plenty of better restaurants within a 2 minute...
Read moreThis could be an excellent experience but it wasn't. The place is trendy, well located in the historical center of Salamanca. I went there while passing through the city. It called my attention. The menu too, even if long. I eat a antipasti "Burrata italiana sobre caponata siciliana" (Burrata over sicilian Caponata) it was removed from freezer and served... the burrata I wouldn't mind but the caponata at least at room temperature, even if it would be better warm or even hot, I couldn't eat it, I tried. My maincourse "Risotto Gorgonzola y pera confitada Con queso gorgonzola D.O.P., almendra laminada, pera confitada, queso..." (Risotto with gorgonzola cheese and confit pear, almond and cheese...), it came in a iron pan, that didn't saw the heat. The rice (not risotto) was warm and undercooked like it was early made and not finished to be served. Just a minute in microwave. The flavor was risotto with cheese, gorgonzola was almost not existent. And the pear i haven't seen it or tasted it. What makes me sad was the restaurant was not busy to justify it. The wines where good and cheap. The service ok. My bill for one person almost 40euros. Probably they are good in pizzas and pastas, so ok, remove the rest of the menu. The ideas behind this two plates where excellent but very badly done. I will not return...
Read moreIt is very difficult to meet Italian cousine expectations outside the beautiful country. Their pasta and pizzas are just gorgeous, and I have never been in an Italian restaurant as good as any of the ones I have tried in Italy. That said, however, I did enjoy my experience in La Mafia. For starters, we shared a Tuscan charcutery board with speck, peperoni, Bologna mortadella, gorgonzola, scamorza and grana Padano cheeses, a delicious pesto sauce, and foccacia sticks. The side is perfect for two people, or more if you also order other antipasti. And for the main course, we tried their bella stagione al speck pizza with artichoke flower, speck, black olives, natural tomatoe, pesto, and mozarella. The crust of the pizzas is very thin and crunchy, so they dont feel heavy in the stomach. They also have all kinds of pasta (gluten-free options too), and some more meat and fish options. For drinks, bitter orange spiritiz (Aperol) and is was lovely. The service was good too, and the waitresses that served us were very nice and helpful. The atmosphere is nice as the restaurant has a modern decoration and the lighting was perfect. Being a restaurant chain, I think it...
