The clientele are lovely to gaze at under the sun dappled canopy but I’m afraid that is the main appeal, not the cafe itself.
The cakes are fine but order wrong and you’ll discover it has been refrigerated a bit too long. What the sugar doesn’t mask in sweetness is mediocre.
Worst aspects are a pot of coffee with a couple of cups for two is more than 10 euros. 3 bags of lavazza at the store are cheaper and will last the whole month.
The smoke from the generous patio drifts inside and lingers. A nice memory of what it was like to eat cake in 1998. Cough.
It seems the happiest customers are the ones drinking alchohol mid afternoon rather than trusting the conditorie with their coffee and cakes. It admittedly does seem a suitable place to sip some aperol and dream of a time when men did not shave...
Read moreI've ordered a hot chocolate and I was staying on the terrace while half of the tables were empty. I was alone and therefore surfing on the internet on my laptop and the boss came to me saying that this place was not a place to work and I had to leave! I guess if I were only on my cell phone like the other guests, I would not have experience such behaviour... I've never been treated in a such rude and bad way, you're not nice at all. I was not occupying a table with people waiting for seating, so no reason at all to treat me like that. By the current situation we should all be nicer to each other not the opposite, I hope you'll learn this the hard way as I did...
