Initially impressed with the impeccable service and a delightful cava welcome, our optimism was soon tested. The welcome snack was a flavorful teaser, hinting at culinary excellence to follow. However, the cocktail experience was a dramatic departure from our high expectations. Our limoncello spritz was curiously light on zest, its character diluted by tepid ice, while the negroni was a perplexing study in dilution, notably missing its gin essence and any trace of alcoholic boldness. It was intriguing to encounter such spiritless spirits in a venue celebrated for its indulgences, leaving us bemused by the paradox of their ephemeral cocktail craft.
The culinary saga continued with the stuffed zucchini blossoms, which seemed to have taken a dive into the deep end of a batter pool, emerging with nothing but the taste of what one could only hope was unintentionally rancid oil. In stark contrast, the stuffed sardines stood out as a beacon of normalcy, actually bearing resemblance to what one might expect in a dining establishment of repute.
Our anticipation for the much-acclaimed paella turned swiftly to dismay as we encountered rice that crunched of defiance, paired with a mysterious taste that seemed unrelated to any visible ingredient. The turbot fillet, unfortunately, seemed to have been introduced to the same weary oil, emerging flavorless and forlorn. As for the octopus, its texture suggested a kinship with cinematic props rather than marine delicacy. And the lamb chops? They presented a challenge reminiscent of aged leather, adorned with a seasoning that promised much yet delivered little.
We prudently bypassed dessert, left to ponder whether the kitchen was having an off day or if we had simply fallen for a culinary illusion sustained by possibly enthusiastic reviews. Our verdict: one star, with reservations on recommending a sequel to this...
Read moreThis is a small restaurant with a terrace and indoor seating area. There is capacity for probably about 15 covers at the most so best to book.
When we arrived there was only 1 couple seated. We were greeted and attended to with out fault. Cava and sample to start the taste buds rolling. Starter and main were delightful. A good menu and the dishes were very well presented.
Thereafter the service dropped as other guests arrived. There was only one person running front of house who spent far too much in the kitchen area as the numbers increased.
After our main we had no contact for best part of an hour. No offer of desert or further drinks. When we asked for the bill there was no comment or apology.
Really disappointing, our visit started so well but ended with disappointment and a degree of frustration that service levels had dropped off. Tables that had arrived after us had received deserts. Given how many good restaurants there are in M it’s hard to justify a return after...
Read moreThe Restaurant is really a hidden gem in maspalomas, often mistaken by the name, which kinda make people think it’s a wine shop. But the ambience is wonderful, comfortable and extremely wholesome, especially the plants and the green colours, make you forget that you are near the street. The service was perfect, you get the wine to taste before you decide to drink or buy it. The food was fresh and excellent, it was extremely delicious and well seasoned. At the beginning we get free Appetizer like fish Tatar and a limoncello. We ordered arancini and they were perfect. Our main dish, was a paella with seafood. It was delightful and refreshing, the first paella in town, that we ate and the best. For dessert we had cannoli with ricotta filling, which was extremely tasteful. I really suggest this place for a wonderful experience and delightful tastes. 10 stars out of 5.
