Restaurante Jade Garden — Restaurant in San Bartolomé de Tirajana

My husband and myself decided to have a meal out during our 10 day stay in gran canaria, after reading reviews on local Chinese restaurants we chose the Jade Garden and we were so glad we did, the meal was delicious, we both had chicken sweetcorn soup to start, it was a tad watery but tasty enough, then came a plate of spare ribs to share, now this is the point where we knew we'd made the right choice in restaurants, the ribs were tender with the meat just falling off the bone, the sauce was without a doubt the tastiest sauce we've ever had on ribs, you could eat it with a spoon it was that tasty, for our main meals we shared sweet and sour pork and chicken in black bean sauce, both with fried rice, the coating on the pork was perfect, it was covered in a light crispy coating with the tastiest sweet and sour sauce and the chicken black bean was amazing, we love Chinese food and this was up there with our top favourite, the portion sizes are very generous and we left with full bellies (we're not slim) we would eat here again without hesitation, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. He visitado este restaurante en varias ocasiones y debo reconocer que la calidad de la comida es realmente buena. Los platos están bien presentados, los ingredientes son frescos y las combinaciones de sabores resultan acertadas, lo que hace que la experiencia gastronómica sea, en general, muy positiva. Sin embargo, lamentablemente, la atmósfera del local suele verse empañada por el perfil de la mayoría de los comensales que frecuentan el lugar. Se trata, en su mayoría, de personas que muestran una actitud y modales bastante cuestionables, lo que puede resultar incómodo para quienes buscan disfrutar de una velada tranquila. Durante mi última visita, tuve la desagradable experiencia de que un cliente, sin motivo alguno, se dirigió a mí de manera agresiva y comenzó a reprocharme que le estaba molestando. El incidente escaló rápidamente: el individuo armó un espectáculo bochornoso y estuvo a punto de ejercer violencia física sobre mí. Lo más decepcionante fue la actitud del personal del restaurante. En ningún momento intervinieron para separar la confrontación o para calmar la situación. Permanecieron indiferentes, permitiendo que el comensal me insultara y manteniendo una actitud pasiva ante un comportamiento claramente inapropiado. En conclusión, aunque la comida es excelente, la experiencia general queda seriamente afectada por la falta de profesionalidad del personal y por el ambiente poco agradable que se respira en el local debido a la conducta de algunos clientes.

I have visited this restaurant on several occasions and must admit that the quality of the food is truly excellent. The dishes are well presented, the ingredients are fresh, and the flavor combinations are well thought out, making the overall gastronomic experience very positive. However, unfortunately, the atmosphere of the place is often marred by the profile of most of the diners who frequent it. For the most part, these are people who display rather questionable attitudes and manners, which can be uncomfortable for those seeking a peaceful evening. During my last visit, I had the unpleasant experience of a customer addressing me aggressively for no reason and accusing me of bothering him. The incident quickly escalated: the individual made a disgraceful scene and was on the verge of becoming physically violent with me. The most disappointing aspect was the attitude of the restaurant staff. At no point did they intervene to separate the confrontation or to calm the situation. They remained indifferent, allowing the customer to insult me and maintaining a passive attitude towards clearly inappropriate behavior. This has to be the best Chinese meal I’ve ever had. My partner and I were on a week away trip to Gran Canaria and were so bored of the all inclusive holiday food. This restaurant had great reviews and lived up to and beyond our expectations. We had an amazing beef satay, the most brilliant crispy duck pancakes which is my favourite dish, with some chicken chow mien and prawn crackers.
