This restaurant for me is a magnet. Every time I am back on the island I am drawn back. It is a little off the beaten track, not in the centre of one of the many shopping centres. The food is typically Canarian. The service is beyond excellent. The place is spotlessly clean, you are always greated with a smile and the staff are more than willing to give you a recommendation of what is best suited for your taste buds. Having over the past 6 years tried everything on the menu, what can I recomend? Then the answer has to be whatever takes your fancy on that day at that time. I have on this visit to the island tried, 2 different soups, 3 fish dishes, 3 meat and a Paella. Be aware that the portion size is generous, and on one lunch my partner and I shared a mixed meat grill with a house salad and we had to leave a few of the delicious Canarian potatoes as neither of us could eat another mouthful. The rice, the seafood, the presentation...all very well put together. My company had an outstanding, juicy Steak (which I had at my second visit) and Grilled Sea Bass. The dishes are very honest meals with very fresh and tasty ingredients. I am a big fan of honest food - Los Porches was to me the definition of that. Reasonably priced meals with outstanding ingredients from the farmers or fishers straight on your plate. The service was very nice and knowledgeable. It is also a child friendly place. The waiter was joking around with the little boy that was with us - he had the time of his life and so did we. I can highly recommend this place - but maybe not needed as they are around since the 70s' - for a reason. Do not get blinded by any other offer of food in Playa del Ingles. Los Porches will not...

I started with the shrimp as an appetizer, and they were truly delightful. As an Italian cusine lover, I was a bit let down by the pizza I had as my main dish. Unfortunately, it did not hit the mark for me as the flavors were off.
Our dinner was saved by the amazing service. Our waiter was an absolute gem - charming, funny, and attentive in all the right ways. He created such a warm, welcoming atmosphere that we could not help but enjoy ourselves. His energy really added to the dining experience.
I would definitely return, perhaps for something other than the pizza, because the vibe and service were so...
