First time this year at Ricky's and what a disappointment. Been there so many times, but things have changed and on last nights visit, not for the better. I will try again tonight and/or Saturday and see what happens. There was a tribute act on first, which was supposed to be Celine Dion, which she was nothing like. She had none of the mannerisms or nuances of Celine Dion, not one. She sounded nothing like Celine Dion and again failed to replicate any of her pronunciation of words, or hit any key Celine sings in. Celine Dion is French Canadian and very proud of it, so you would think a Celine Dion tribute act would sing at least one of her many french songs, no. She wasn't a bad singer, but she wasn't great either. A Celine Dion tribute act, she definitely wasn't. The drag cabaret show afterwards, was just full of the same old recycled material, one after the other. They appear to have lost some of the enthusiasm and lustre, but I have to say, Daisy Diamond was the most impressive and worked hard. I gave 5 stars for service and I hope the bar staff are paid well, as they were run off their feet and did a fantastic job. There didn't seem to be as many as normal and applaud their effectiveness and...

Some of the singers are really good,,others not so good. BUT THEY GIVE IT ALL !!! As the crowd yelps and sings along they deliver the best they have, to the patrons delirious delight. It's alive...the whole place becomes "one" . Straight, bent or uncertain....hold hands at the "puppet masters" command....
This is for all, independant of any sexual confusion, it becomes a stage for a great fusion for all.
The show is a performance where the audience and stage join forces.
It's impossible to "be alone" at Ricky's. You are guaranteed to be seen and become one of the flock.
The staff are your friends, not your servants. If you respect this simple rule, it' s great night. But remember, all are there for the good things in life.

This bar should've stayed the small size it was with cutting edge funny drag. What it had spiralled down to is bad at best.
Karen and Co enjoying their evening out whilst mediocre drag artists put in the bare minimum to mime to wicked with an acrylic wig.
Such a shame as this was the place to go and whilst you could argue it was jan/Feb, other bars seemed buzzing.
Hopefully they pick up to the bar they once were, but alas that'll only be for the pride coffers to tide them over for the mediocrity this place has become
Oh and to the bar staff.. when someone asks for shots and you say you'll only serve if you get one too (paid for by you) put in the donkey work first...
And on that note.. the vodka isn't vodka. It's not even close to watered down vodka. Not even lidl would pass this off as a spirit.
