I went to this restaurant on holiday as a family of five. We sat down for breakfast, hoping for an English breakfast. We were greeted by a man who didn't even say hello. We waited approximately 10 minutes before someone came over to our table. My daughter went up and asked if we could order at the little area, or if he would come over. He came over, and when he did, he was very rude saying to my daughter “you do know that you’re meant to leave customers wait to have a look at the menu” we were in shock!!!! Then he started taking her order. My daughter just over-talked to him a tiny bit as she didn't know if she heard him or not. He said, "You're very rude." He started on my daughter, saying that you can leave if you wanted to, and don't come in here being all rude. My daughter didn't say anything. She's very quiet. Overall, the service was disgraceful. That man shouldn't be working there. He's sweating 24/7. You can see the sweat coming off him. The food was gorgeous, but the service ughwas disgusting. If I wasn’t really hungry I would have left there and then!!!!
My response —
Just wanted to address some things in your response to our review. First off, there were actually five of us, not four. We did say hello when we came in, and the conversation with your staff didn't go down the way you described. Our daughter just wanted to know how to order.
We get that the service was a bit slow, and that's why she asked. But the way she was spoken to was totally out of line and not professional at all.
And yes, we asked about drinks because we wanted to know what was available. It's not a crime to ask. Regarding the straws and the ice, our 10-year-old twins don't like to drink from the same glasses as others, it's just a personal preference, especially when we're in a new country. That's why we asked for straws. And to be clear, nothing was taken from the restaurant. As for the bathroom, that's just not true, we have a gorgeous hotel that provides those things and I think as a family that’s on the holiday would have money anyway to pay for those things if needed and we certainly didn't leave a mess.
And by the way, there was only one other couple there, so the place wasn't exactly packed. Honestly, the fact that we have to go into this much detail to correct you says it all. We're sticking to our point that the service wasn't great. We weren't complaining about the food – it was fine. We're not trying to make things up; we just shared what happened, and it wasn't a good experience. Hope that clears things up.
I will add in that you will hear from my solicitor and also will be going to Gran Canaria police station to complain. Posting children and my...
Read moreAbsolutely shocking! Went there for a 3 course Xmas lunch everyone was told to turn up at 3.30 but 6.45 we still hadn't had our main course. No apology by the owner/manager and when the food did arrive it was like a very bad school dinner. Roast potatoes were deep fried so weren't cooked in the middle. Very was soggy and the pigs in blankets cold and burnt. We had already paid 50% as a deposit, but as it had now turned into an evening meal and we had friends to meet we decided to cut our losses and leave. We offered to pay for what drinks we had but said we would not pay for anything else. We were met with the most disgusting display from one of the owners. We were threatened with security and the police. He screamed and shouted at us, and then to top it off the other owner came out of the kitchen scream "It's our Christmas too you know?" Like we were some friends that had just popped in and not paying customer!!! No doubt I get some reply from them saying it was our fault and how we were rude and demanding(all untrue), which seems to be a running theme for their replies(never their fault). Our Xmas day was thoroughly ruined by these people and I really don't think they should be in the service industry as they...
Read morecoeliacs beware! we came here because it advertised gluten free breakfast. as we placed our order i was asked if i was ‘very coeliac’ and i said i was. i was told there was not a separate kitchen and therefore there was a risk of cross contamination. in my twenty years of being a coeliac i have had MANY conversations with wait staff about cross contamination. this time i asked the usual questions e.g. do you use separate cutting boards?, do you use a separate toaster?, etc. i was assured these precautions were in place and we ordered our meal. a few minutes later, for my own reassurance, i asked about the chef being a coeliac as described here on find me gluten free. the waiter got very defensive and aggressive, said the chef was only gluten intolerant and then asked us to leave as we were drilling him with questions. at no point did i raise my voice, in fact i even asked him to calm down as he was getting very agitated. i asked for his name and he then told us if we didn’t leave he would call the police. i think they are using ‘gluten free’ as a USP but in reality are unable to provide that. avoid at all costs. would give a negative...
