I'm not sure that I want you to know about Guarapo Tropical 'cos it'll become busier, n I might not get a table at what is, without doubt, my favourite eatery ANYWHERE. It's a Restaurant, a Cafe, a Diner, a Take away, a Bar and a Pub rolled into one.

Service. The staff are incredible. Friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, helpful, courteous and LOYAL. (IF google allowed me more space, I'd be able to explain that last bit.

Prices. More than reasonable.

Location. Slightly hidden.. though that goes in my favour, 'cos less people can find it, lol.

Cleanliness. The tables are well kept, the bar area equally so, given the quality of the food I'm gonna bet the kitchen is as clean as the rest of the place. which means clean.

Food. As far as I could tell (March of 2022) everything on the snacks menu is available as take out / take away. and there are enough options on that menu alone to make sure you'l be happy. There's a Lunch and evening 'main meal' menu too.

The Guarapo Tropical is one of those little finds that stay with you for as long as your memory lasts. I cannot recommend it highly enough. But please try to leave me a table.

The downside. it's several hours flying time from MAN. in the out of season period, it doesn't open for breakfast and there was no signs of a breakfast menu. However, NO WHERE opens for breakfast other than the hotels. I'm soon to find out if it does open for breakfast in season.

There are piccies!! but they are on my phone.. I will add them later. Hope you enjoy the food, the drinks, the service and the views if you visit, and trust me it's your loss if you don't.

OH, another downside, for me (an upside for my beautiful wife to be) is they have have live sports showing...

“Hospitality goes a long way — especially when the food isn’t up to scratch. Sadly, this place seems to have missed that memo. When you’re paying to sit down in a restaurant, the bare minimum expectation is to feel welcome, not like an inconvenience. If the food had been decent, maybe the lack of warmth could be forgiven, but when both the kitchen and the front of house fail, there’s simply no reason to return. A smile, some attentiveness, and basic courtesy cost nothing — yet somehow, they managed to serve up indifference along with subpar dishes. Truly disappointing. My fault for only checking the reviews after my visit, but seeing the same complaints dating back two years makes me wonder: is management actually doing anything?

To start, I ordered a dry martini. Anyone with the faintest knowledge of cocktails knows that comes with olives. Instead, I was handed a random gin glass with a sweet red cherry floating in it — not even close. When I politely asked for the correct drink, the waiter looked at me as though I’d lost my marbles, insisting it was “right.” Eventually, another waiter brought the proper drink, but with so much attitude it was almost worse than the first mistake.

Then came the pork ribs — absolutely drenched in ketchup. Not sauce. Not glaze. Straight ketchup. At that point, I wasn’t sure if I should laugh or cry. Between the lack of hospitality, the dismissive service, and food that feels like a parody of itself, I can safely say I won’t be back. We got a free shot at the end , I think they noticed our disappointed. Thanks to...

Check your bill !!! Restaurant operates sharp practice. Today when paying by credit card the waiter, without asking or pointing out increased the credit card amount above bill by over 10%. When queried he said, "he added a tip". This sharp practice must net the waiters a lot, as most people probably don't notice. We had been going to leave a cash tip. We insisted on the return of the overcharge, which without explanation we were offered back in cash. Unbelievably, he then tried to hold onto that. Needless to say, we didn’t let that happen and we left no tip and will never return. Comment on the Owners Response below... The response makes no sense. How does the owner know which waiter it was? And how could a waiter understand what tip I intended to leave without me telling him or him asking me? The extra money put on the credit card was only returned because I asked for the card copy, looked at it before I left and noticed what had been done, drew attention to it and was told he added a tip. A better response from the owner, rather than pretend this was a misunderstanding would be to invite me back to discuss the matter with him and see if he could find out which waiter it was. I have lived in the area for a long time and know many other residents. They were all very dismayed to hear about what happened at Restaurante Guarapo and that the owner doesn't intend to do anything to stop...

If your kitchen is not fully serving anymore on Sunday 9pm, please tell the customers. Staff 1 told us it was okay timing. " Slices of beef tenderloin in Truffles sauce" is a 24 EUR dish, and I could have made a better one at home, and I'm not even a good cook! We received lovely service, from many different servers, but it won't make us come back. We ordered our dishes (from a different staff member, number 2) with canarian potatos, they were forgotten. This dish (staff number 3 brought them) has a ridicilous amount of mashed potatoes?? I ordered my meat medium, why ask if nobody checks it before it leaves the kitchen? We got the right potatoes, as extra, when I mentioned them, but they were just basic cooked potatoes, cold ones, with mojo the side :/ When we received the potatoes (staff 4?), I asked "is THIS the truffles sauce?" and was told "yes" before hurried away. As it was late and nobody was caring about us/ this order anymore, we ate. My avec had a different dish, too bad I didn't take a pic of it as well. "pepper sauce" was a clumpy disaster for the dry "Gordon bleu novillo".

Situated in the shopping centre behind the bus station in Playa del Ingles. The restaurant overlooks the beach with the bar opposite. The bar is abit old fashioned, all dark brown wood and solid heavy furniture, the restaurant is much lighter. Both are fairly large do will seat quite a few people. I noticed a sign at the bar advertising live football matches being shown on TV. The food was average, I had a Caprese salad (tomato and mozzarella with basil pesto €9.95), it was OK but nothing special for that price. My partner had a cheese and tomato sandwich, which are all made with toast not bread, for some reason (€5.75), he said that it was just OK, it also came with chips. I'm sorry about the photos but we began eating before I remembered to take them.
