The Globe on the Golf — Restaurant in San Miguel de Abona

After booking a table at lunchtime for later in the day, ( we were advised to do so by the staff) we arrived to find no table booked, after a look around we managed to secure a table.

We waited 40 minutes before a waitress abruptly asked us if we were ready to order, presuming we had been given menu’s and that our drinks order had been taken, neither had been received, her response was to tell us that she worked behind the bar, and couldn’t of cared any less.

Her attitude was really quite bad, no apology was forthcoming, we should have exited at that point.

Before I list the comedy of errors I will say the food was lovely. We had the fish and chips, salmon and prawn salad & lasagna.

There were 3 in our party. There were aspects of the meal missing and then had to wait again or chase someone around the restaurant to tell them, we then asked about the the sweets menu, to be told they didn’t have one and to go look in the fridge.

After choosing what we would like, we placed our order to receive items we didn’t order, when we eventually received what was ordered all the puddings arrived either cold or with items we specifically asked not to be included.

Check your bill !!! Extra’s had been added, when we queried the bill the response was oh yes, I forgot to remove it !!?

Seriously the worst customer service encountered on this lovely island, and definitely not a place we will return to, if you can’t cope with the amount of customers that turn up, then either take more staff on or close your doors, and concentrate on the customers you...

We stopped at The Globe on the golf course for a pint and some food, and I’m so glad we did. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a lovely staff member who was polite, welcoming, and very friendly. We had originally just gone out to get away from the noise where we were staying, as the neighbours were driving us crazy with all their banging — so to come here and receive such a warm welcome was a real treat.

My partner ordered a pizza and absolutely loved it — he was stuffed halfway through, but it was so good he just couldn’t stop eating. I had the cheeseburger, and honestly, it was to die for. I could happily eat another one right now, even though it means I’ll have to work extra hard at the gym tomorrow!

I have to say, I’m shocked by some of the negative comments I’ve seen about this place — but hey, you can’t win them all. To me, the food was amazing and there was nothing wrong with it at all. I genuinely believe some people just complain for the sake of it, because our food was absolutely outstanding.

Had breakfast fabulous so came back for dinner next day salmon arrived under cooked still raw in middle (it happens ) was taken away was told we will sort it Hubby had finished his dinner before mine was returned 💁🏼‍♀️ Was ok sauce looked well past its best potatoes was at best just boiled not the canarian potatoes I’m used too But to spoil the night was as soon as kitchen was closed 9pm was obviously staff wanted to be off no offer of deserts or coffee Clean down began Tables cleared parasols dragged in toilets cleaned and closed When bill arrived no offer of a drink or discount for the fact I ate separate to my husband Not sure how it works hear on customer service but in my business in Portugal I’m pretty sure it would be in my interests to ensure customer felt at ease and cared for while in my establishment We all work to earn our money to have holidays and deserve respect and care whatever 3* for breakfast food and...
