Actually went to the rendezvous bar on Saturday for a meal. I asked about the Sunday tribute act, Buddy Holly, I was advised to book a table if I was having a meal, or if I was just coming to have a drink not to bother, there would be plenty of room. I went to the rendezvous on Sunday with a party of 8 persons. We left a really great venue, The 19th hole, to arrive at 9.30pm. When we arrived there was a middle aged singer on stage, I asked the barmaids when would Buddy Holly be on, I was surprised when she said "He's on". The singer was good and the songs he did were good, in fact he sang 4 Cliff Richards songs(actually thought he was a Cliff Richard tribute act). He finished his stint and went to the toilet, the only Buddy Holly song from,9.30 to 11.00 was one he did at 10.55. I asked him in the toilet was he now going to do the ,Buddy Holly songs, answer was, "No" I did a couple at the start of the evening, and i have finished now, Not Buddy Holly, but Buddy Awful. It was a complete joke. The guy and Rendezvous Bar certainly need to review their entrainment strategy. It's a great place, but it was empty, I...

Decent ish wine list, same comment applies. Smoked salmon came with more salad than fish, and a steak diane didn't seem to have heard of the mustard which (should) separate it from an insipid 'non-pepper' sauce.
3 stars felt a little harsh, but then again the maitre d' (or at least one of them, Spanish, shirt fully buttoned up) seemed really quite condescending and not entirely au fait with serving guests some 30 years below the target age of 65+, bus pass brigade. Likewise, two gins and tonic minus the requested 'slimline' or 'diet' tonic is a slip more than is acceptable for this price range.
Overall, better quality and better value places to eat in Golf del Sur, let...
Read moreTucked away in the Winter Garden resort is this little gem of a restaurant. The grounds are kept immaculate and the indoor section of the restaurant is pristine and modern with great atmosphere and light music. The staff here are fantastically professional; genuinely friendly but not overly so and very knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients (which is very important for a celiac and diabetic). Ordered the seabass with veg and potatoes and it was magnificent. Great wine and spirits selection also. Can't wait...
