Delightful dining experience! An excellent find in the Gros neighborhood. The interior, with its vibrantly colored ceiling, wooden paneling, and decorative additions, immediately made us feel comfortable. Interesting, it’s just 12 seats at the bar where you watch Anali prepare or finish off dishes while her husband is in the kitchen cooking others. Dishes are impeccably executed with layers of flavors. Only a matter of time until they hit Michelin. We enjoyed the best anchovies (made in house not from a can) we’ve ever had. Steamed buns filled with Iberian pork, kimchi mayo and lightly pickled beets on top. The ceviche of Dorade came beautifully plated around a savory sauce with a citrusy taste with several taste components added. In season boletus mushrooms were served over a velvety thin layer of mashed potatoes topped with a handful of taste components. From 30-40€ to 60-70€ pp for food depending on à la carte or tasting menu. Excellent small wine menu that includes sherries.

A wonderful dining experience for our last night in San Sebastián. We had the tasting menu, which elegantly showcases the delicious produce of the region. The hake we had for the main course was genuinely world class. Also, I don’t know what they do to the gazpacho - supposedly just fresh tomato, garlic and oil - but it was extraordinary. The vibe of the restaurant is intimate and relaxed with great service. I enjoyed the inclusive feel of being sat across the bar even more than I expected, as we had the pleasure of watching Anali plate our dishes in front of us, producing mesmerising swirls of causa (Peru’s citrus-spiked pomme purée) and topping with tuna tartare. We also greatly enjoyed the wine pairings picked out for the meal: delicious and sometimes unusual Spanish wines, including a deep golden, oxidative Garnacha Blanca from Madrid, and a Basque ice cider with dessert. I would go back again in a heartbeat!

Artean is a beautiful, intimate restaurant with delicious, gorgeous food and wonderful service. Anali took amazing care of us, presented the menu and dishes thoroughly and finished many of the dishes in our sight which was fun to see. Her husband, a Peruvian chef with experience from many Michelin starred kitchens created exquisite dishes with local produce and exciting flavor combinations. We enjoyed an amazing scallop tiradito with Idiabazal lèche de tigre and octopus with a green curry sauce among other amazing dishes! Every dish was well balanced and we finished our meal fully satisfied but without feeling over stuffed! We highly recommend this wonderful restaurant and wish German and Anali all success.

Rarely am I compelled to write a review immediately following a dining experience but Artean is so deserving of every accolade and compliment it has, and is yet to receive. It is exceptional! Beyond exceptional! The food, service, and environment has a quiet and elegant sophistication that is beyond a Michelin restaurant in many cases. The ingredients are of the finest quality imaginable. The flavors are refined yet extremely approachable, the presentation is inviting, and the overall dining experience is like nothing I've experienced. I know this restaurant is going to become the shining star of San Sebastian so best to dine there now before it becomes impossible to secure a reservation. It truly is a magical experience. Anali y German...muchas,...
