The staff were not very helpful. I had advised them before of a person witih gluten intolerance (not an allergy) and the waitress didn't even mention they had a seperate menu. Before she realized that, we were going dish by dish amongst ourselves to try and figure out what had too much gluten and what didn't.
They brought out hongos (mushroom and egg) dish without the gluten-free bread and when he did bring it out, it was still frozen. They should have timed things better, you need bread with that dish! Just details that a place of that caliber should be aware of.
Asked about a particular bottle of wine and got a "It's good." from the waiter, would have been better if he hadn't said anything. No contribution.
Thought we'd have a drink after dessert but they started dimming the lights so we left. Overall, food was fine (very traditional Basque dishes), cocktails were mediocer at best and service quite poor (nonetheless, we left a nominal tip, which is unnecessary in Spain).
Was a birthday celebration (which I had written in comments part of reservation), but not even an acknowledgement. Even a cheap candle in our dessert would have been a nice gesture. Also, the place was NOT busy, otherwise I may have been more...
Read moreWe liked the ambiance but not the communication. I am vegan and I asked for baked potatoes. The waitress didn’t speak any English so I asked in Spanish for patatas en horno. She said they don’t have them, have only french fries. Which was strange to hear as in menu there were 2 types of potatoes. She actually didn’t know the difference between them as she said the only difference is salsa (sauce). Ee decided to order both and you on the picture that there is a big difference. I was very disappointed that we paid for 2 additional dishes to figure out smth the waitress should be able to explain. Also they charged us additionally for the vegan mayo which was never mentioned as smth additional. The baked potato was tasty that’s why I give 3 stars for an average between tasty potato and bad impression of the professionalism. Rice dish my friend took was very small and overpriced and also took a waitress long time to find a Spanish name in the menu while...
Read moreVery disappointing experience! Overpriced and very poor quality of several dishes, especially sea food. Furthermore, they charged us 22.50 euros for a children dish of spaghetti with butter and cheese without warning!
UPDATE: sad that the owner's answer is so blunt untrue and misleading! He does not mention that as stated in my review he charged a full price of his exquisite linguine WITH bolgnaise sauce (22.5 EUR!) whilst it was served for a child and without sauce. So, it would have been nothing else than fair and easy for him to ask for a reduced price for the dish, since his cost was much lower. This would be the most appropriate and fair thing to do. No rocket science and definitely much more child friendly and service oriented. As his answer shows, that was not his intention and this is...
