We got an early check in and got room 510. The room was not bad in size with a large bed, small sofra, desk and chair and a small table and chair. The room had an open style wardrobe which seems to be in style these days but not a safe unfortunately.
There was no iron or ironing board, but it was possible to get this on request from the reception. The bathroom was small but functional with a good-sized shower and what felt like good quality shampoo/soap. There was a TV mounted on the wall but we did not use it much and the wifi worked fine.
On the hotel website the description of breakfast is “..offers a delightful buffet breakfast featuring a variety of vegetarian and gluten-free options. “ The breakfast that was introduced in our hotel stay was not a buffet but a choice of different sandwiches, fruit/yogurt and coffee. The breakfast was decent enough but I’m just saying that it was not a buffet. The breakfast is served at the small café/restaurant located on the ground floor next to the hotel and it was great to sit outside to enjoy the breakfast.
The location of the hotel is quite good, and it is only minutes from Zurriola beach and 10 minutes to walk to the heart of the old town. There are also many restaurants and bars in the area and the Gros neighborhood seems to offer more local experience compared to many of the restaurants in the old town area.
All in all: I would not mind staying there again as the hotel room and location were pretty good. But next time I might skip the breakfast at the hotel as this was not...
Read moreWe had a great stay at HotelBed4U Zurriola! After a delightful stay in their Bilbao property, we were thrilled to stay with them again in San Sebastián and it did not disappoint.
The beds are super comfy, having the Ability to watch Netflix in our room is a rare and very thoughtful creature comfort we really appreciated (not that we had much time to take advantage of it), the rooms are clean and quiet. The rooms are simple but nicely decorated, the prices inexpensive and you have everything you need and more. the hotel is only a 5 minute walk to the Casco Viejo, and it’s maybe 140 m to Playa de Zurriola with all the surfers. There are some great local dining options too in the neighborhood if you need a break from the touristy spots of the old town. (My apologies for readability, editing a long post from the google app is not easy!)
Cristina at the front desk was so helpful and welcoming and charming, she gave us some personal tips for her favourite spots to visit, and told us about her own personal connections to the food scene of the Basque Region.
Really cannot recommend this hotel more highly, anywhere we see a HotelBed4 property, it will always be...
Read moreHighly recommend for tourists new to the town. Stayed for 10 days as a couple in January. Rooms were basic, but immaculate. Staff was very friendly and went out of their way to ensure our stay was going well and that we had everything we needed. Everything is literally a 15 minute walk from this hotel.
The best part of this hotel was being on the outskirts of Gros, just outside of the Centro neighborhood. If we had stayed in the Old Town or Centro we might not have made it past the more touristy highlights of the city. Due to the location of the hotel, combined with the knowledgeable expertise and suggestive guidance of the staff, we were able to easily have fun experiences such as live music at club venues like Dabadaba.
