Do not miss this place! This is a MUST GO! It’s close to a tourist location but it’s not for tourists, it’s the real thing! The food has an amazing quality, the portions are big typical basc portions, the food is brought from towns close to Donostia San Sebastián where they make them with the same amazing perfect recipe the used since forever. You always think next thing in the menu can’t get better but it does get better! If you live close be aware, the food it’s so good that if you try it you will never be able to stop eating here. Txistorra yummy as can be, tortilla nice juicy and soft but rich in flavor, bacalao al pil pil it’s like eating a peace of a cloud you are almost in heaven because now comes the chuleta and this is like I wishe I had a second stomach and eat another one this can’t get any better, but wait until you try that cheese with membrillo and now you are in love with food, finally the desserts walnut ice cream and walnut cream and the canutos and ... I can’t even say the words. You...

At first was skeptical since it was located at typical tourist locations...boy was I wrong. Impressed with the appetizer, the BEST bacon I've had in life...the way God intended. Then with the Cod fish tortilla and the Cod fish platter, one was almost not ready to take in the awesome steak, dessert, and the five various apple ciders. Located nice and close to the rest of the awesome San sebastian. Plenty of Euskara being spoken to be immersed in Basque culture, while also being very open to other international people's (Basque/Euskara people are very welcoming in the first place). The owner was very attentive to our table of five, while also explaining the process of the Basque Cider House tradition. For sure a place I can recommend for any tourismo...

There's a lot of raving reviews for this place, but I have to give you a different one. This is a place tailored for large groups, so not suitable for a couples dinner. When people say the food is really good, what they mean to say is that it is average. Definitely not worth a visit for the food alone. The local cider is (in my opinion) undrinkable so you better stick with a beer or some lukewarm wine. Don't dress up for the visit as you are probably going to be splashed with cider from the obligatory cider tasting where the brewer pours cider from 1,5 meters height down into your glass. Everything is kind of sloppy and the service is unattentive. This is a "get drunk and have fun with friends place" nothing more.

Cider (or sidra as the locals call it) is a must-try in San Sebastián and this bar is one of the best places to experience it. The cider here is different as it's dry and not fizzy. The bubbles are introduced as part of the pouring process. You get to pour your own cider from massive barrels. The cider squirts so far that you have to catch the cider mid-stream before it hits the ground. There are at least 5 different types of cider. Every 10-15mins or so, the manager will round up diners to go pour more cider together. It was an amazing experience and the food was good too.
