Excellent simple food that includes such options as potato soup and pork cheeks as well as melon with jamon, so the Spanish kitchen and also going beyond it. I had a menu of the day for 11 eur and it included a choice of 3-4 dishes for a first and second plus a bottle of wine, water and a dessert with coffee. All of this is excellent value for money, probably at a third of the price or even more that you would pay for lunch locally. I was a first guest at 12.30, people who came later seem to know each other, they were both Spanish and internationals. People said hi to other diners regardless of knowing them or not. Nobody took pictures of their food and there were many conversations around. Most of diners seemed retired or local tradesmen. Sadly, it seems a lunch only place, at least at this point in season. I would highly recommend it.
We went again, the next day, and the menu was different and still very good value and very good quality. I also met some of the customers from yesterday! I managed to feed 3 kids for a very good price, 7 EUR! It was achieved by them sharing a huge plate of spaghetti, having a drink each and also ice cream. So yes, the place is children friendly. They were accomodating of their wishes of no source on spaghetti and the ice cream was tricolor. It does depend how much your children can eat and how picky they are but the solutions can be found. Book before going, there were a lot of people who didn't manage to get a table who came shortly past the opening time at 12.30. Definitely...
Read moreWe found an odd mix of divine food and misunderstanding. We called in for lunch a couple of times. They do a fixed lunch menu of two courses including drinks which is very good value and the food looked gorgeous. However we were staying half board in a hotel with very good food and just wanted a light but tasty lunch. So we asked for the main menu to order a couple of tapas dishes. The menu has main courses and a separate page for smaller options headed tapas. The place was busy with tourists but the staff were struggling with communication. My Spanish is very limited and their English was worse. I thought we could overcome this by pointing at the menu. I ordered the tapas prawns and ratatouille and tapas "broken eggs and ham". When our food arrived the plates were huge. Broken eggs and ham turns out to be fried crispy eggs on top of enough chips for two people plus some ham. The prawn ratatouille was delicious but large. As expected when the bill came we had been served and charged the main course version not the tapas. We got the wrong drinks as well. I would recommend the food here but just be aware of what...
