BÁSICO | Sándwich Club — Restaurant in Sant Lluís

Having read the good reviews about the vibe atmosphere and the food we decided to visit. The bar is a sterile bland bar lacking in colour decor and imagination so not sure where the vibe and atmosphere comes from. The views of the beach are amazing but unfortunately the seating is wooden benches or stools that are screwed down so very uncomfortable its impossible to sit back and relax and enjoy the vista. We ordered sandwiches 1 pulled pork 1 beef with a dipping gravy and a side of fries, 1st bite was wow lovely but it just became incredibly bland with the same taste over and over again, same with the fries. Each bite had to be washed down with a mouth full of coke because everything was so dry, we had to order more drinks just so we could finish ot meal. Nice place with good atmosphere, views and pomadas, but although the sandwiches look great on the menu, don't taste particularly special at all, and the incredibly thick slices of bread make them quite dry. For the price they are at, they should also come with fries. Service is hit and miss, we were ready to order our food and drinks and were told 'We'll take your food order after we've brought your drinks' which we found odd. If the customer is telling you that they know what they want already, then why not save everyone some time and take the order? I saw this happen to other customers too, who were also bemused. After the server brought our drinks, they then walked away, and we had to wait another 15 minutes to get someone's attention to tell them we were still waiting...

Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this place. From the moment I walked in, it felt cold and unwelcoming.

The first time, the lady told me, very unkindly, that I wasn’t allowed in a bathing suit. There’s no sign outside stating this, and the place is literally on the beach. It felt more like a public scolding than a polite request.

On my second visit, the girl at the checkout got visibly irritated because I didn’t remember the table number, despite me offering to list exactly what we ordered.

I guess there won’t be a third time. These people simply don’t belong in the hospitality business.

To top it off, the coffee is bitter and poorly made, the apple juice tastes watered down, and everything is overpriced for what you get. A shame, really, given the prime...
